Livo going before Barnett would be an absolute farce. Barentts last two seasons(bar a couple of games) have been an absolute joke.

Livo is never going to make it though, he puts in 110% but he's never going to be athletic enough. Jack Williams is by far the better player and even he's touch and go. We are well stocked for talls.

Barnett is there athletically it's just the opposite that it's all in his head it seems. IF he could change his mindset he has a much better chance of making it than Livo. If you combined the 2 you would have a gun.

I'd be asking anyone if they wanted J. Williams and seeing what we could get for him. Collingwood maybe?

Query on the points value to match bids.

Let’s say you bid on Team A’s kid at Pick 10, and they match. That puts your pick out to 11, and also shuffles the rest of the order down.

Then you bid on Team B’s kid at Pick 11.

This is obviously the cheaper of the two, as it’s shuffled down, but also so has the value of Team B’s draft hand with which they could match.

Do they calculate matching off of the live pick number, or of the pick it was supposed to be? E.g. can enough bids come in that suddenly you can’t match guys you could have at the start of the draft, or does the value to match come down by far more than your own picks lose value?

That’s great mate, but why would Carlton do that? They’ll be trading 10 for a F1 to help them with Walker.
Curnow to the Swans for 11 + f1 + player imo

Carlton will have 10 11 20 + f1syd.

They will try get in front of the Dean bid imo

Live pick.

No one is ever going to bid on a FS/academy pick with pick 1 for the lols or be not nice.

The #1 pick gets a $10k bonus from the AFL.

If the club does bid, they are denying the non FS/academy player they would have always picked the bonus.
Actually, Adelaide did that with JUH when they took Thilthorpe.

Its all live. Time of bid is when it is calculated.

Slow, doesn’t hurt you, lacks physicality and intent and isn’t accountable off the ball, extremely limited positional wise too.

At minimum will be good in the WAFL though, which is a win.
Feels about right. He might have a bit of the Clay Halls about him but reality is Clay Hall is too young to carry our WAFL teams midfield.

If Macrae played 0 AFL games in the next 2 years I wouldnt be that upset. The question is, Will Macrae free up the younger guys in our WAFL team to excel? Yes. Then add him as a 4th rookie

Blues will try and package two of those three (10,11, SYD F1) to get a better F1 for Walker IMO.
Is anyone like to part with a high F1 though? I reckon anyone in the bottom 10 would be made to trade F1's unless they were confident of playing finals next year. I think Carlton might target two lower F1's (Brisbane, Geelong, Gold Coast) with a view to packaging up next year when more is known about where those picks fall.

And I’m guessing because the cost of bids comes down faster than the value of your held picks there’s never a point where your position can go backwards, e.g if you could have matched bids coming into the draft you always can regardless of how it goes.

That's it. It's one of the reasons why it benefits Gold Coast to deal with us. They can offer a favourable deal to us and still win due to the points savings on matching bids.

There midfield will be fine.

Rivers viney Pickett Langford Lindsay Windsor sharp

Theres potential, but alot relying on Rivers taking a step up and Viney not dropping off a cliff

Just find it funny they've been crying for a competent tall fwd for years. Now it looks like they're going full rebuild they sign a 32 year old key fwd

If there is any chance we can get Patterson to pair with Duursma im not moving on any of pick 1 or 2.

Dont care about this pure inside mid crap people are on about, between Reid, Hewett, Duursma, Allan, Patterson, Hall, Gross, Evans, Banfield x2, DevRob, McCarthy, and whoever else we will draft, we would have more than enough contested midfield prowess to contend for premierships.

Patterson seems like an ideal type to sit at half back for a couple of years rebounding, while Duursma sits on a wing.
2 years time they both go into the middle. Ezpz midfield sorted

Gives Jefferson a year or 2 more to develop, i dont think its an awful move with Petty probably going back to d50 to replace May

I think Sharp is more important with how he potentially unlocks Harley. If we were savvy, we could still get Sharp with these Patterson and Duursma, though a fair bit would need to fall our way.

Spot on, still not sure I’d be using the rookie list to recruit just for the wafl but our choices might be minimal. Didn’t we bring in someone from Pies recruiting team? They should have a fair idea on his capabilities.
