Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

Has anyone done the math on how many points we’d be saving the Suns by not bidding on their kids at 1 and 2? Like are we saving them a pick equivalent to 30 or so?

ATG you’ll be able to clarify - are they actually any better off at the pointy end in this version? The more I look at it the more it looks like their picks get absorbed on a Uwland bid from 3 onwards anyway?

Post Allen compo and hypothetical WCE trade they’d own 15, 17, 18, 23. (Points value 963, 839, 836, 653)

Uwland bid at 3 = 1960 to match.

963+839=1,802, so does it also consumer their next pick and send something back worth the gap?

Or if they can chip in elsewhere, is owning 18/23 better than owning their current hand anyway?
Bid on Annable at 2 so it pushes richmonds pick to 4 and it costs GC 1766 to match.

I think the difference between needing to match at pick 1 and pick 3 would be equivalent to around pick 20. Based on the draft guru points calculator.

I don’t want to get into a bidding war for pick 7. 17,23, Chesser pick and no bids for pick 7. That’s it. No doubt we’ve promised Richmond the Hawks’ 2R for Young.

If GCS don’t accept I’d look at trading 23 for a top 8 side’s F1 and 17 for say SYD or WB F1 if there’s an appetite for them.

I don't think we've promised Tigers anything at this point. We don't know what we are getting for Chesser and Ryan and neither side would be able to tell us as they both have multiple balls up in the air as well. All these trades would have ball park conversations taking place but that's about it.

A few of the larger trades will need to get knocked over before the bulk of movement takes place will be my guess.

Also i find it intriguing Lions haven't put the Free agency request in for Allen yet.

It's highly unlikely they would have the gall to ask for more so i'd say it's us trying to squeeze another pick out of them or we are not prepared to give 19 and would prefer they took later picks which i doubt they would want.

Either way i think it's a sign we're not rolling over and just giving them what they want.

That’s pretty significant then considering we could bid on both Uwland and Patterson, there’s surely no way anyone outbids us

Matching at 3 is 90% of 2,178 or 1,960
Matching at 1 is 90% of 3,000 or 2,700
Difference is 740 = pick 20

If there is any chance we can get Patterson to pair with Duursma im not moving on any of pick 1 or 2.

Dont care about this pure inside mid crap people are on about, between Reid, Hewett, Duursma, Allan, Patterson, Hall, Gross, Evans, Banfield x2, DevRob, McCarthy, and whoever else we will draft, we would have more than enough contested midfield prowess to contend for premierships.

Patterson seems like an ideal type to sit at half back for a couple of years rebounding, while Duursma sits on a wing.
2 years time they both go into the middle. Ezpz midfield sorted
Lol there is no chance GC wont match both undwin or patterson .

In fact I can see them prioritise all 4 of their academy players .

Its in GC interests to have as much QLD talent on their list and trade away the vic guys on inflated contracts .

They have 7 get flanders at 8

7 8 14 18 33

Humphreys has made it known he wants to leave so trade him for petracca take all their kids and auction off the picks pushing some into next year

Do we get involved with Sydney if they are in the hunt for Charlie Curnow?

Pick 2 would be good to throw up as bait for Sydney to try and grab to then flick to Carlton for Curnow I think.

Rowbottom been thrown up as someone who could be moved on and would fit us perfectly. A deal like

  • Pick 2 for Rowbottom + 10 + F3rd
  • Pick 2 to Carlton for Charlie Curnow
Troll account

So all outside like daicos or all outside like smith?
Daicos is a special player. He's the best I've seen since Ablett and Judd. He's an anomaly. Not a guy that a credible person would use for comparison.

Now, about Bailey Sniff.... How good do you think he is in a bottom 8 side? He's a standard outsider - dynamite in a top 4 team, variations of average in bottom 8 teams.

Apparently the picks Cal was referring to were that STK are offering an F3 for Ryan and then their F2 for GWS F3 and Aleer.

Wouldn’t clean out your locker just yet Liam.
F3 for a contracted best 22 player ... Forget it.

You could see this coming a mile out. Who knows what conversations went on behind the scenes. Maybe it hapenned and we don't know. But we should have been trying to blow this up a while ago and tell Ryan to look for another club. It was obvious they were going to try and low ball us.

Ryan will probably blame WCE if the trade doesn't go through but it is really his managers fault for not getting guarantees from St Kilda that they were going to make a serious offer to us before he nominated them.

Or just hold up blowing up about it till it all plays out
