Wasn't your classic hyperextension ACL so some hope it is less serious.
Hyperextension isn't classic ACL mechanism

The classic mechanism is exactly how she did it.

Watch closely and you'll see the knee bent with valgus force at the moment the foot hits the ground, this forces the tibia bone to shunt forward underneath the femur.

Great win and a solid team performance.

I though the Pies went out pretty physical at us early, they put some grunt into Roberts, then one of them tried same on Rentsch and she said

O f****** K.

Turn about is fair play and then she went complete bulldozer mode 🚜.

She made a huge physical statement, two things happened:

Our girls lifted with it.
The Pies started fumbling due to the perceived contact.

Both these aspects turned the game
our way.

The other thing and it’s been mentioned earlier is that our aerial game has become a dominant feature.
Contested overhead marking has improved out of site with:

Lwaker
Zwakfer
Cleaver
Riggs

And Lakey and Franky have also improved.

Just need to weed out the smalls that fumble at ground level.
Britton was hopeless today fumbled pretty much every thing that came her way, that kills momentum and causes turnovers.

Get our ground ball skills up another 15 %, over the next few drafts and we are well on the way to be a top top.

Our improvement these past two seasons under Daisy will make it a lot easier to attract better player to join us and also lure some of the better WA girls home.

Can't remember being so sad after a big win. Gutted for Rowls, it was all just starting to come together for her.

Lackfer and Franklin becoming genuine weapons is a huge development. Plus Riggs. Suddenly we've got forward weapons! Add Painter and Gibbo, defenders don't know who to guard, it's crazy. Plus we're the best contested marking team in the comp, no question, and they're all still so young, will only get better.

All the teams that suddenly explode up the ladder do the same thing - they have a big number of young players suddenly improve a lot, all at once. Just recently we've had Cleaver, Franklin, Dalgleish, Lackay, Painter, Rentsch, Riggs, Rowley (sob), Roberts, Thomas and both Wakfers all taking big leaps up... and Roux too.

If next year's draft is as strong or stronger than this year's, another year of experience into all these kids, we're going to be serious contenders.

Whenever it's Britton, Western or Bushby, fumbles and missed passes follow. They can get good numbers, and have great speed, but not much sign of skills improving. Kavanagh's got talent, but she's slow and looks totally out of shape, not sure how that happened.

But that just creates gaps for some new draft kid to fill. If you're struggling on any AFLW list these days, you've got a bullseye on your forehead.

Ok, sounds like you know more about it than me. When I did mine it was a hyperextension so I was hoping the best for her.

Incredible work ladies. Looking forward to watching the mini when I get home.
Biggest win in club history and you're watching the "mini"?

Gee that was a fun game to be at (except for injury to Rowley 😢)

Words don’t describe how incredible Roberts is but L.Wakfer must have been close to pipping her for BOG - she has had some fortnight.

Otherwise everyone was strong but I was super impressed with our defenders - Cleaver, Z.Wakfer, Thomas and Rentch not just for keeping Pies goalless for 3 quarters but the ability to transition the ball at pace coming out of defence.
Egotistically, pretty wrapped that the 6 players I mentioned were the 6 that got coaches votes for us.

Watched the game again last night after I got home from the footy - Jess Rentsch was even better on review, didn't appreciate live (mainly because was on other side of the ground to some of her bigger hits) how good her physicality was.
