What # will Sanders wear next year![]()
Looks like the year we got Sanders. Not 2025.WTF?
We had the dominant midfield in 2021. Melbourne had the next best one and Steven May.
Brisbane have that midfield and Harris Andrews.
We could have Steven May next year if we were able to make obvious sensible decisions. But alas that is far from our strong suit.

Ill raise you a Ben MackayWe do keep our cards close to our chest, so lets hold the melts another week or so to see if we do have other targets lined up.
Can I interest anyone in a Billy Frampton?![]()
Still think we move our next years to the blues this year to arm ourselves with two firsts to temp Port and let Butters know we have the pics and to put pressure on port to do it this yearButters is not leaving Port Adelaide this season so our first rounder would most likely be used in the draft
So they keep trading their picks forward until they end up with all the top picks in 2027, what difference does that make?I still think the AFL missed a trick in not giving Tassie concession picks as soon as their entry was announced. They could have given them pick 5 (preserve bottom 4) and start of 2R and 3R selections for the past 3 years.
Obviously they would have had to keep trading them forwards but that’s fine - could have traded their 2024 2R for North’s 1R third year (doing the trade Richmond did); and then this year they trade that pick into 2026, etc. It’s so much better to dilute a lot of drafts a little bit then to absolutely destroy one draft - particularly when you add on up to 18 FA compensation picks
Yeah quickly worked that out after i posted it..lolLooks like the year we got Sanders. Not 2025.
Max is the one I've heardWill was always the least football oriented of the three. He wasn't even interested in pursuing it as a career for awhile there.
Ill raise you a Ben Mackay

Please bless us tiny baby Jesus.
great news, but what makes you so sure?Butters is 100% coming to the Dogs. Only question is whether it's this year or next year.
you bet, the more inane our comments are the better. we the funs know everything and we are the best speculators in da universe! This is the very definition of a forum to discuss exactly this!![]()
Butters wants to come. Butters wants out. Butters doesn't want to be disrespectful.
Just get it done.![]()
He is a line breaking midfielder that we dont have. Like a prime Treloar but more aggressiveThe biggest hurdle is getting Butters to nominate us. He comes out and says 'Make me a Dog' then it gets interesting.
As for the salary between Bont and Butters. What would Bont want the most right now? Another flag. Does Butters give us a hell of a shake at getting there, you bet he does. That's the same sell to every other player on our list.
Honestly, when you add all the pieces up, he's clearly looking at a move. You don't just walk into a meeting with your club asking about exploring a trade back to Victoria on a whim. It's not just a throwaway line.
The argument from some green eyed opposition fans 'you already have a stacked midfield' is ridiculous. You can never have too strong of a midfield, that's where the game starts and that's where it's won.
Go get him Dogs. Move heaven and earth and make it happen.
It makes an enormous difference. The team who finishes 9th the year before they come in still gets pick #10 rather than being pushed all the way back to pick #20 (or probab worse with FAs) or has already had the benefit of trading that pick.So they keep trading their picks forward until they end up with all the top picks in 2027, what difference does that make?
Think Butters is more then Richards with that aspect
I read somewhere recently that he’s sold his Adelaide house and is currently living with Mitch Georgiades. What I’m surprised about from that post from Mitch Cleary is stating a $$$ figure and years length, would that suggest that we’ve actually made a formal offer to Butters or is it just an educated guess?
I’ve also heard that Butters has recently listed his Adelaide home for sale, but I’m unsure if this is true or not.
Either way, where there’s smoke there’s fire.
Interesting week or two ahead.

Smoke, fire etc
Renovating, not sold, apparently.
