I'd say the reason Rawlings said that RE key defenders is either:

1. Key defenders from other clubs are not coming over depending on what eventuates with other list management decisions. Or, we're not saying anything until its concrete.
2. We already know that players have made a choice to stay or go somewhere else.

Interesting times ahead. Logue needs to get seriously fit for next year.
