I don’t think it should surprise anyone that CDT wasn’t in the top 10 in the jumping tests

Outside of NN and Jackson, rucks are generally heavy and quite lumbering, why would they be able to jump very high? Can you imagine Gawn, Grundy, Xerri winning any long or high jump contests? I think people for some reason think that because their hand can reach the highest due to their height, they must automatically be able to jump the highest

I’m going to take a guess that there have been very few ruckman in the top 10 in previous years
Likely because he’s an unconventional ruckman, rated so highly due to his athleticism and classically non-ruck elite traits. If he had measured similar to Jackson I’d say take him at 2, but being a poor ruckman, shorter, and not even having the vertical athleticism, really shows he’s not built to be a next level ruck

CDT 2.92 sec 20m sprint after a 6:19 2km. Like it or not I reckon he’s coming to WCE.

Hopefully Cumming or Sharp there at 7 if we get it.
would he play as key defender in his early years. I know there is endless discussion about being a ruck but his size and versatility i am curious about.

And Naitanui was taken at 2, Jackson at 3.

Where were Gawn, Grundy and Xerri taken?

And where's CDT being spoken about being taken? 😩

Sorry WCE777 Koby is not outside he is a inside primary that gets to outside well
He is one touch, powerful quick mid that is very good at the groundball
Something our current mids are not great at
He can play as a resting half forward as well

His speed and agility in traffic are most valuable closer to the contest, where he can open teams up. Gets his hands free better than anyone else from WA this year.

CDT is not a ruckman - yes he could pinch hit in that role, but he is no ruckman. He is; however, a bloody good footballer, an overgrown midfielder who with pace and endurance can patrol between the arcs all day long, providing a target and an outlet to transition. In

Do potential draftees really skip tests because they expect to do poorly or is there something else going on? It seems like the combine equivalent of pouring Gatorade in your piss test
Unfortunately yes. Recruiters see straight through it though.

There are plenty of players now that are 190 - 195cm midfielders. In general people have been getting taller for quite a few generations now.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that CDT may have the ability to play as a midfielder, similar to how Luke Jackson plays there occasionally.
CDT has speed and good aerobic capacity.
I’m not convinced we’ll take him, but it will be very interesting to see how his career develops.

Randomly spotted on the Geelong board. Feel like Duursma/Sharp is still most likely.
For the love of God can somebody leak this to the press. I just want to farking enjoy the draft peroid and have fantasy's in my head of Dyson in our colours.

This is meant to he happy times except here i am worried we might do something stupid draft and trade peroid

thanks for your feedback, are you worried about his repeated injuries to make it as a mid?

Interesting interview on Mornings with Mark Duffield. Adam Johns the WA talent state manager stated that Tylah Williams likely to bid on in the teens could be 2nd to go behind Farrow.

I also thought in the interview Matt Clarke did with Cal Twomey was interesting listening again where he said "if we did trade up for a inside top ten pick there needs to be a talent worth trading for" so i wonder if they see a large contingent of players in the same bracket.

Its seems like open pool pick 12 - 25/30 all seem pretty even tbh. Or small drop off.

He said the same thing in the Woodcock video I posted earlier. Thought it was very weird. Hope it's just his own personal opinion rather than having any insight of other clubs' thoughts on Williams.

If we’re open to trading down, we should have pretty good relations with the 2 key clubs, Richmond and Essendon, via Clarke’s contacts at Richmond and Eagles alumni at Essendon (Rosa, O’Brien and Vozzo). That might help because we’d need to be confident of which players they’re trading up for.

Why not just take Duursma?

If the Bummers are willing to trade 2 first rounders for pick 1 in order to get him, that speaks to the level of talent.

He's 193cm tall, versatile, consistently ranked number 1 this year and has a bit of Bont about him.

It's a no brainer to take him, they can have CDT though.

No one will trade up for CDT is the point… we need A grade talent but we need talent generally speaking as well. People overestimate the stage we’re at in our rebuild. We’re still in the accumulating talent phase
