I think you are possibly answering your own question there.

CDT isn’t popular in here and i understand the hesitation with blokes that are 200+cm going early in the draft. His talent is undeniable however. Quick, big tank, strong in the air and contested ball in general, good kick of the footy and actually links up well in general play and makes decent decisions.

I think if the Eagles rate him as the best or second best prospect in the draft we should take him. Don’t split the pick in that case.

My assumption was based on not being interested in CDT.

And we sell pick 2 at a premium.

Not pay more than is needed for who we rate and want.

Sorry should have seen your post before I posted on taking CDT, or at least just cut and pasted your post and given it an 'absolutely spot on" 👏

Tim Watson on SEN this morning saying how ridiculous it is the AFL have given us pick 2 for someone like Oscar Allen and how it’s ’assistance’.

Gary Lyon then explains to him how the free agency compo system actually works and he goes “oh, I didn’t know that”

😂
Essendon are salty regarding the FA difference in compensation between Draper & Allen. all the while having amnesia regarding Kako last year

James actually asks a very legitimate question, “Why was the compensation so different between Oscar and Sam?”

I was actually interested to find out, I mean why was it so different:

Callum starts to answer… James interjects with a question before he can. Callum starts to answer the new question. James, again, doesn’t let him finish.

In short, it was a minor increase in the money and the age difference.
And their respective clubs ladder positions

Looks like we have some problem of playing the game of "hide-and-seek".
If we don't want to go to the very bottom to rebuild, we must play this game well on our local talents.

not one but two TylAhs?

What The Hell Wtf GIF

I'd trade 1 & 2 to Essendon for a ten year contract extension for Brad (with Hird clause), future 1st rounds for the next two years, and Merrett escaping to a club that wins the 2026 flag
Essondon are like the outhouse of the Afl so happy they have Hird , Watson , Brad Scott , the Pieman etc.

Seems like copium. Feel like the kicking and marking points are debatable. He's not actually made it off the ground with both feet at the same time in his life so not sure how he can be judged as strong in the air.

The kicking and ball use in general is not debatable, he’s extremely clean and makes smart decisions, he’s a force in the air but he can at times drop marks he should be taking, he’s incredibly hard to stop in 1 on 1 or heavily contested situations because of his athletic ability and how quick his first few steps are.
