1. Half back flanker with midfield potential.
2. Half forward flanker with midfield potential
3. Half back flanker with midfield potential.

🔒 It in Eddie. Never mind the dominance of ground ball in the sport.

100% as soon as silvagni came as a Free agent aleers services were not required.

The whole GWS were being hard to deal with was just an out .

Saints wanted to keep marshall too .

Bringing in TDK flanders Ryan Silvagni without losing anyone of note will definitely make them a better side
They will finish 9th next year🤭

Hardly the most inspiring group of players.

Cripps is finished at the end of the year, Owies sucks, Newton is a stab in the dark, Long will struggle to get another contract, Brockman is decent but is allergic to kicking goals, Champion, Walley and Williams are all speculative late picks.

The odds are that Cripps, Owies, Newton, Long and one or two of Champion, Walley and Williams will not be on our list in two years time.

Maric, Dewar and Hutch are not played as small forwards. Evans best position is in the midfield.

Throwing tonnes of speculative darts at the dartboard is not going to guarantee success. Sometimes you have to invest in the position and use a decent pick. Gimme Dovaston.

Yes to culling that group and yes to Dovaston. But also yes to moving Ryan on.

I am favouring this with our top 3. Now if 2 can be split and can still land us Sharp and somehow someone like Farrow as well, then sign me up.

1. Duursma
2. Sharp
13. Dovaston
I think there’s probably a fair chance that Dovaston isn’t there at 13 in the open pool

I was just going by Twomeys sep rankings and if it said Midfielder etc
He did barely did nothing in the champs. He's down a couple of tiers from the top dogs. I expect him to go 12-18ish.

I feel like we've got a lot of "hybrid" types which is good if they are good at one or the other but we seem to have meh in all areas other than the Key spots

maybe wait a couple of seasons before finalising your "meh" rating.

Dewar looks ready to break out.

Champion been in the system 1 season.

Hutchinson has been moved around a bit, need to settle him as a HHF and also looks like being ready to hit his peak.

Shouldn't say meh I should've said "haven't locked a position in, not up in the air "

Hopefully this stops the Vic media tears…. Or who cares haha

The “I think it was a bit less initially” bit caught my eye and might help explain the Starcevich negotiations- specifically that some people think we overpaid

It could very well be the contract wasn’t quite enough to guarantee band 1 so Brisbane needed some encouragement to up their contract for us to get pick 2

40+/rookie Ainsworth, Stumpf
Trade Aleer

Haven’t seen enough of Shanahan to form a strong opinion yet.
I'd be looking at only rookie spots at this stage.
We lack running players so much i couldn't justify a high pick for a kpd.
If we take a 4th pick in the ND sure, I'd like Curtin as a developing kpf but with what we've got on the list and with young coming in it should only be a rookie pick

Our Newton was regarded as a very good small forward before his injury in 2024.
How do we compare the 2024 Newton with 2025 Dovaston?

From memory newton was considered a top 30 pick at stages during his draft year. He can play forward or mid.
I think if we draft dovaston those 2 will be lining up in our forward line round 1

Ryan was still better than all our other small forwards and probably our best kick inside 50 .

And we traded him for magic beans
Elliot yeo get traded to us for a second rounder too and he was early in his career.

When a player nominates a club you are kinda funked.

Pity we didn’t let geelong know this with Kelly….

Rookie options in the KPD market would be Ainsworth/Stumpf imo.
Agree with your thoughts on high picks for KPD options, but Schubert is VG.
Take as many mids in this draft as we can and we will need 2 KPD options next year if we don't take a KPD rookie this draft.
They need to be developing soon as the play for Young will only be 4 years at tops in our system so need replacements soon.

Wasn't he an unrestricted agent ?

Ryan was contacted and just turned 29

Mihocek turns 33 in February

Collingwood would have got nothing for him but got a F3 because Melbourne wanted to keep their spargo compo

And Ryan will be 30 at the end of next season.

What do you think a 30 year old on a 2-3 year deal for moderate money is going to get you in the way of free agency compensation and that’s before taking into account the AFL is now talking about tightening up the compensation for next season?

How is this still being talked about? I subscribe to the idea that the future future third going back the other way was worthless thanks to the Tassie compromised draft.

We received a future second for him. We drafted him originally with a second in 2017. We've had him for eight years, won a premiership and buggered up his hammies. How this isn't considered a great outcome is beyond belief.

There's been a bit of talk about Ainsworth and strumpf on here. They sound like perfect later options .

Ess Give: 5, 21, 30
Ess Get: 2

WCE Draft:
1. Duursma

not all bad, as long as we get 5, 7 in the trade and take Sharp, Cumming.

Points wise it's all pretty fair however i'd prefer to keep holding Gold Coast to ransom on our own.

13, 34 & 38 for Pick 7 is fair especially considering we won't bid on their academy boys in return.

If they trade the pick then i'm happy to bid on Patterson at 1 and squeeze them.

Also Tyler Williams will not be available at 53 so we'll have to get creative there.

We might get lucky and get Patterson as they will not be able to afford the both of them if they trade out 7 & 8 but at the very least we knock out a whole heap of picks, can still split 2 and have later capitol to match any Tyler Williams bid.
