As posted earlier in the thread by Twinkletoes, Trotter has had nothing to do with this.

Simpkin went rogue, and it’s blown up.
I guess you could say I was PERPLEXED that... perplexed described Jyza as thick-skinned the paragraph after describing him throwing a tantrum

I don't think his manager had much to do with it. Harry said last week that Jy has been unhappy with his role all year. He probably thinks he has been ignored and made to eat shit sandwiches by Clarko, he then had a shocker of an exit interview, after which he chucked a tanty. It doesn't appear that he or his manager did any groundwork at all before this.

The extent to which Jy has burned his bridges, and what his ongoing relationship with Clarko will be like, is unknown. Clarko is notoriously thin-skinned, Jy is the opposite. If Clarko wants Jy gone it will get done, and we will get screwed in the trade. If Clarko is happy for Jy to stay, then he'll only get traded on favorable terms.

It's all amateur hour stuff. The relationship between coach and captain should never have been allowed to deteriorate like this.
Agree.

Suspect though that the first big blow up occured after our R.20 loss to Geelong by 101 points. Officially Jy developed a knee injury in that game and missed two. However, his knee was good enough to play golf and he didn't fly to Canberra (but the injured Larkey did). Then Hodge, Clarko's mate, canned Jy for playing golf on TV, not being in Canberra. Simmering tension/anger leading into the exit interview.

You wonder when Sonja and others became aware of the deterioration. She must be livid.

Majak was a beast when Brad finally tried what I'd seen fans suggesting for about three years, and put him in the back line.
Majak played 54 games in 7 seasons averaging 9 disposals per game and 3.6 marks per game, I’ll admit he had one reasonably good year where he played 18 games. Saw him take a great mark against Collingwood and that’s about it. Built like Tarzan played like Jane.

So are the hawks gonna offer up a trade for Merrett? Or is Sam Mitchell just a prankster… “hahaha, gotcha Zac!”.
Sounds like it will really come to the last day and Haws are trying to get more collateral

From the latest Insider trading article:

SUNS' PICK IN CLUBS' SIGHTS

GOLD Coast's pick No.15 is on the trade table as clubs consider plays to move up the draft board.

With the Suns' picks No.7 and 8 tied up in discussions with Melbourne on Christian Petracca, Gold Coast is also open to offers for its next pick – which is currently No.15 – to accumulate more draft points and work down the order.

The Suns have spoken to clubs about the potential of splitting the selection into two picks in the 20s, with North Melbourne holding picks No.25 and 26 and weighing up whether they hold there or shift into the first round
‐------
while North Melbourne skipper Jy Simpkin's path to Collingwood has not become any clearer and is looking more unlikely at this stage with little progress. – Callum Twomey

------
Geelong's veteran duo Cam Guthrie and Jed Bews are among those with their future on hold as well, while North Melbourne will wait to make a decision on the likes of Will Phillips, Darcy Tucker, Cooper Harvey, Finnbar Maley and Geordie Payne.

Really? seemed the opposite to me with the shyte that Kennett, Egan and Rusty were throwing at him.

Dignified, I'd suggest
He has always been an easily angered, 'my way or the highway' type of person.

On the Hawthorn Racism saga, we aren't going to find common ground on this one. Despite the shithouse way it came out, most of that stuff still happened. I have some sympathy for Clarko because I think he was oblivious to how his behaviour would be interpreted. But not owning it and taking time off for being called on it was weak as piss.

Won’t pick 15 still end up in the 20’s? That deal sounds awesome for us. Just another one for the greater good of the competition.

This conflict should be in Viney's territory to resolve. It must have been known to him for most of the year. I wonder what, if anything, he did to try and resolve it.

I'm not sure but wouldn't Jy have had to get permission off the coaches and company before he / they decided that he didn't need to travel with the team and play Golf instead. I would doubt very much he would have made that decision without permission from the club or am i totally wrong some on here would probably know more about it than me.

Yeah nah the evidence (if you can call it that) was a touch underwhelming.

Firstly, he's worth a top 10 pick, or two first round picks outside top 10 IMO. He is a captain, far from ageing, and is on a long term contract. Take it or leave it. Simple as that.
I am going crazy about people saying he isn’t worth 2 first round picks or maybe a top 10 pick after this academy / father son nonsense.

He is our captain, he’s not old, and he’s a good footballer. It isn’t crazy. Some of the mid players being linked with picks in the 20s yet so many people seem to think we should accept a packet of twisties. Wild to me.

Pay us what he’s worth to us or leave us alone
