Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Anyone hear the caller on Trade Radio (his name was Bill I think) questioning how no official offer has been put forward - yet there are names being mentioned? And those names mentioned just happen to be managed by the same manager as Charlie. Sam Edmund was largely silent, while Kane said how it isn’t a good look. Suggesting the media are getting all their info from a certain management stable, rather than from the clubs

Probably another player manager group ringing in.
I also get “vibes” from some new posters doing the old social media influencing. (Rather clunky as well)

We are trading the most valuable asset this trade period and are not getting a sure thing back. Paying 1 good and 1 average player a combined $1.2m, more than Charlie was on.

Both false. Was traded fresh off a year similar to Charlie. A down one. I believe he was 27/28. Not 'much younger' really either. It's arguable if Charlie's knees are good that he doesn't have the concussion issues and/or overall wear and tear of a Jeremy cameron as well.

sorry i forgot about the covid year lol but my point still stands… charlie will be 2 years older than jeremy cameron was and he was the giants leading goal scorer for his entire career. He won the coleman the year they made the granny. What im trying to say is cameron is twice the player charlie is.

If we do truly get rinsed on this trade, then I think one big question we need to ask is why were we so accommodating to Charlies request.

Does Charlie want OUT or does he want to play for the Cats/Swans? If he wants OUT of Carlton, then surely we should've had the discussion that some other clubs need to be brought into discussions to facilitate a deal. Charlie and his team would not be in a position to protest that. Maybe Charlie could counter with 'ok just don't send me to Perth or Adelaide' and that opens up more options.

But if Charlie just wanted to play for 1 of 3 clubs (Cats, Swans or Us), then there is no excuse for a bad trade, which is seeming more and more likely. We just make something work if he we can, but if not he comes back.

No club is ever going to do that to a player. They will facilitate a deal 100 times out 100

Agreed, but it's up to the buyer to satisfy the seller. Promises would have been made by Geelong in this case to Jez, so it was up to them to get the deal done.

In our case, Charlie wants out but it's not up to him, we have a contract. The only downside is that Charlie doesn't have the work ethic or team first mentality that Jez has, so the price comes off a bit.

For the record, Charlie has been ultra unprofessional for a while now. He's in for a shock once he gets up to Sydney!

What im trying to say is cameron is twice the player charlie is.

But he provably isn't. In two far bettter teams than Charlie has ever experienced he's put up either the same or worse numbers compared to Charlie's capacity. Even the nonsense about tackling etc. He has lower numbers than Charlie....

Then that would be unders. The two first rounders are the most important part of the deal. Unless there is an even better player involved coming back I wouldn't be doing it.

1st, Hayward and Florent is not enough. It would be worse than the Cats deal.

A B+ type , salary dump and two picks outside the top ten isn’t reasonable. It’s Austin doing nice guy deals like he has a history for. We will see …
