Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I still hope we're looking to on-trade something to GC for Walter. They're getting JUH which means Walter is in the VFL all year. They're giving up waaaay too much for Petracca and they still need points.

It's a very slim chance but at least they haven't categorically ruled it out like they did with Humphrey.

Walter has hands like buckets.

Have a look at the triple decker spekkie he took in Darwin.

He just can’t kick for shit.

20 odd years ago we let Josh Kennedy go in a big trade.

He couldn’t kick for quids early.

But he learnt.

Thats all well and good, one thing I know for certain is he sure as hell aint gonna learn to kick at Carlton.

If we do end up trading Charlie and play with McKay as our one genuine key position forward with a fleet of third tall types (Hayward, Kemp, Moir) who do we get chop out ruck minutes from? Will we play two rucks with the sub rule going? Will we just get some ruck minutes in to Harry (risky) and go super small forward? Super intrigued how that plays out next year.
HOK would play Forward/Ruck I assume. I'm hoping Harry's days in the ruck are done (he does well, just dont want to risk him)

If the Curnow trade goes through, we need to seriously consider our drafting strategy.

Our KPF stocks are very low and will be a disaster if Harry gets some more concussions and is forced to retire.

Dean and Ison aren't key forwards. And what will be our 3rd pick this year? We aren't getting a Coleman at that pick.

Are there any good key forwards in next year's draft? Do we forego Cody and take 2 x 1st round picks instead?

Do we need a Coleman?

Logan Morris was the 2025 premiers key forward and he was pick 31
Brody Mihocek was the 2023 premiers key and he was a rookie pick
Ben Brown in 2021 and he was pick 47

I understand we want the best of the best but winning flags doesn’t always need a Coleman medallist dominant forward (I’m aware of the Cats 2022 and Jeremy Cameron but I feel that’s an exception)

The 'ku can chop out.

i’d be extremely surprised if JUH plays over Walter let alone plays any AFL footy on the GC at all this season.

Fair to say I disagree strongly with Healy’s assertion that the suggested deal is ‘overs’ for Charlie and even more so with the premise that Swans should be asking for pick 22.

Just shows that terms like ‘overs’ and ‘blow us away’ are subjective and based on one’s perspective only and perhaps bias too (Healy being the Swans supporter).

Healy rates Florent and Hayward thats why and it seems most here, dont, outside of this season Florent has been a top contributor to that club for years and last year Hayward had many clubs chasing his signature.

The 2 1st round picks although not amazing picks plus two players who will both be best 18 is a great deal, what we give or dont give back is what will change it from great to ok to crap.

Gerald Healy came up with an interesting point on fox footy. He said it’s becoming a ground ball game referring to small/medium forwards kicking more goals uses the grand final as an example.

Found that insightful.
Charlie is amazing at ground level - his hands are incredibly clean.

He’s really not that great above his head.

His loss will be felt for sure.

Good business…

We’re pushing out 1 player that doesn’t want to be here and bring in 2 players who don’t want to be here, Hayward and Florent.

That’ll fix the culture

They don’t have to agree to come they’re contracted but they would surely realise (particularly Florent) that opportunity going forward will be limited. If they do we can only assume they have reconciled it in their heads and are happy to come.

Apparently?

Do you have a quote?

Do you have his medical records?

Do you have any rehab/recovery reports?

Or is this another "look how bad Charlie is" with a sprinkling of BS?

What are you on about? Why do I need to find a quote? I asked that poster and that's what he said, got an issue take it up with him.

The only sprinkling of BS is "Charlie was mismanaged by the club" making excuses for the sook...

I suspect you'll be purchasing your Sydney membership next year... might want to move houses there too 👍

That isn't the point. If I pushed you enough to lose balance and fall, it's not going to be any different than tripping over because in both instances, you're losing your balance and you're falling. Not exactly rocket science here matey.

It is the point! And not any different? Hahaha ok matey... comparing a push vs a slip and pretending they're the same thing with the same impact... apparently it is rocket science for you... matey...

Why is it unlikely?

Because it's a lot more common from direct knee impact not a muscle contraction...

Based on your totally unbiased opinion of Charlie's character, I gather?

Don't pretend you don't have a bias for him...

It is a lie if you're accusing him of something with zero evidence.

You're accusing him of being a professional... with zero evidence...

You'd shut up about him, that'd be a good thing.

Would I? Well... onus is on Charlie to shut me up then...

Question is, will you shut up if he stays and stinks it up again? I suspect not... we'll hear more bs about the club mismanaging him... with zero evidence of that too I might add... it's funny how you always seem to cry out for proof and evidence to back my claims but can never provide any of your own and when asked for it, you go on some spiel about not needing to "because it's obvious" hahahahaha
