Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Pies reportedly want to move into the first round this year by trading their F1. We should go for that. I could see them falling in a heap next year. One of the better F1s to hold when you weigh up cost vs where it could fall.

Best. Death riding. E-ver!

Fly is burning the joint to the ground to try and squeeze out one more during Nicks career

If he succeeds? Master coach

If he fails? He'll be out of there before they spend a decade at the bottom anyway

Struck me, as one of those examples, of a coach being too focused on a player's weaknesses rather than his strengths.

I'm actually surprised Florent had to be pushed, to look elsewhere for opportunity. Think it was always in his best interests. If your coach clearly doesn't rate you as with Cox and Florent, it's nearly impossible to maximise your career.

I think it was more around his business being based in Sydney and becoming rather profitable. I think Hayward moving with him makes that a fair bit better.

Heeney is also one of the three owners for the record.

Maximise it elsewhere but if you’re on a L/T contract then that club pays for their need to offload that contract from the books & list numbers.

Not sure how they're gonna go from asking for 22 back to making us happy in an unexpected twist but looking forward to see how it all plays out...
I feel like the Curnow trade is pretty much whats been discussed.

My guess, is the unexpected twist is what we end up doing with 10 and/or 11

Damn, I would love to see him try to spin how they're still winners even though they won the wooden spoon
Some of the main board Pies would try spin it that way, believe me

Yeah makes sense.

For me to be very happy, they'd have to be used to get an F1 from North or someone expected to finish bottom 6... with an early 3rd rounder this year coming back.

But I doubt that's gonna happen

This was where Longmire was an exceptional coach.

He would coach players to their best strengths (generally, we can argue it took him far too long to move Heeney to the midfield), of course it can occasionally go pear shaped if things went a little wrong though.

Funnily I think Longmire would achieve great things with your list.

Ainsworth didn't sound thrilled to move to us either to be honest. Not upset but clearly got pushed out at a time the Suns were finally coming good, but he'll adjust. Every year young players get sent to clubs they'd rather not go to, yet a lot of them never leave even when given the chance. Won't take long for our new players to love the club.

At least if they are being sent 'home' then it usually worksd out ok (I hope). Like local footy clubs, players and personal change and turnover very quickly so the club and people you joined as an 18 year old will have changed considerably by the time you are 25/26.

I think this is also part of the issue with Charlie - he had Ed at the club and mates in Walshy but also Chugga, Paddy Dow, Setterfield etc who are gone.
