Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

They need to trade Humphrey to bring in Petracca and 2 of the top 5 draftees - so it doesn’t hurt them at all and if anything they are now a destination club
Playing tough, is something that weaker clubs need to do, to stop it being easy for players to leave.

Most players aren't going to want to leave the GC now anyway, so its not an issue.

So, are we saying 10 and 11 for Humphrey. Keep the future first and get Hayward? Maybe a future second to us and future third to Sydney. Can’t see it happening. But would be stoked if it did.
I can't see it either, because that would be disastrous IMO.

I will not visualise it.

Anyone wanna give me a 'why Humphrey is a great get' post in less than 5 sentences?

Prize is a nice apple or carrot. If it's great- you might get a sugarcube.

Yeah it's pretty much, we've had him all these years anyway and while he played some awesome football for us, we didn't really get anywhere. Not saying it's his fault, just saying a change up to our forward structure plus open avenues to bring in Walker and some other decent players... might work out best anyway

I reckon Dwayne Russell (yes ..I know) summed it up pretty well. If we knew we would get the 2022/2023 version of Charlie back (64 goals/81 goals) then fine but given the circumstances, his attitude and injuries, Carlton may never see that version of Charlie again.

Yeah, that’s where I am at. Sometimes trading one very good player allows the club to upgrade in multiple different ways. Ainsworth is one who we’ve brought in, Hayward sounds like being another.

Charlie’s attitude stinks on field. We will move on and be much better for it.

But they’ve lost a lot of mid-tier of their squad to invest in their youth to now prop up. Z.Uweland & Patterson do look good though.
This is list management.

IN: CP, JUH

OUT: Flanders, Fiorini, Budarick…+ Humphrey (who you can understand wanting to keep)
Edit: + Ainsworth….to us!

If we land Haywood, Humphrey and a 1st Round Pick for Curnow i'll be very very happy.

How would the forward line look:

HF: Ainsworth, McKay, Humphrey
FF: Haywood, Moir, Williams

Drool worthy, dynamic, agile, balanced.
Frankie Evans from the bench
Motlop given time to get his fitness and awareness up to scratch

We go from a cumbersome, dysfunctional forward line with one VERY good crumber (Williams) to probably the most dynamic (to borrow your adjective) in the comp

not convinced on Humphrey. His manager was pretty empathic yesterday that he would be staying at GC.
Tend to agree but the take away I took was that Humphrey's manager was not happy with Craig Cameron and the club administration. Clearly arent happy and will continue to look to leave over the course his contract

I think everyone is going to be VERY happy after tonight :)
We're getting pick 2 and Butters??

Right? Right?

Seriously though, if the outcome is that we can secure Humphrey and a (currently) top 4 pick, that would be outstanding, that's my watermark for being overjoyed.

Really didn’t see the need to extend Motlop, not in the running IMO.

My question is if we trade curnow what am I meant to do with my 1 year old son who I named Charlie. Should of named him Harry.

Get his name changed.

He’s 1. He won’t even remember.

I’d like to be “very happy” after the trade deadline tonight.

I think doing a solid deal for Curnow is good for Carlton. Got to break some eggs to make an omelette. He’s clearly the best player in the deal, but we may well (in time) be a better side with the collective output and revamped team dynamic that comes with Hayward et al.

Charlie will be excellent for them. Massive upgrade on their scoring power. We are in need of a broader change and this might be it.
