You've been spouting this line for about 4 years now and.....
Maybe its time to accept your read of the situation is not aligned to that of the club.
It is seriously a waste of a list spot. The next Ryan Abbott won't even get a game, let along impact results for us.

The whole "warm body" claim is ludicrous and gets wheeled out every year. Stanley, Blitz, and SDK will provide more than a state league ruck.

Either get a proper one, or don't bother. We tried that, and now we move on.

Mitch Edwards to replace all water with full-cream milk for the next six months.

Mitch Edwards about to go on a, "I told you so" tour

Starting ruck gig is his if he really wants it.

If the TDK and Marshall setup doesn't work next year, which IMO is a fair probability, we'll a Grundy & Gawn situation all over again.

TDK's numbers as a forward are diabolical, and Marshall's are okay at best. The fact that Marshall doesn't want to be there let alone play as a forward, doesn't bode well at all.

I can't wrap my head around the Saints logic, not just here, but for the entire trade period.
All the players they have brought in at present are B graders at best and on massive dollars. They boot their skipper for an ordinary pick. Reject a fair offer in the hope (and that's what it is) TDK and a ruckman who doesn't want to be there, will pay dividends. Produce one of the biggest dog acts seen in football of recent times with Aleer and go all Trump about it and lie as to the reasons why.

If the Saints aren't winning games next year, Lyon, SOS & Allen will be sitting on a tinderbox of a changeroom of their own making.

Good luck to them, but my god it all seems like a massive gamble that if it doesn't pay off will end the careers of SOS, Lyon, Allen & see Bassat laughed out of the club.

It's not how we roll, and history shows what system works best.

Restricted Free agent and Port will be able to match anything we offer him if they choose
They have a right to match but if no trade happens he gets to go where he wants via the draft.
His destination club shouldn't need to give much more than what they would use to take him in the draft. Port would get more by accepting the AFL's compo pick.

Curnow nominated us.
Marshall nominated us.

Disappointing that we couldn’t land either.

Brisbane, Gold Coast, and GWS all nailed the trade period - they’ll be very hard to beat next year.

We’ve improved slightly with Worpel and Bruhn, but the lack of a quality ruckman still hurts.

Didn’t you use a current cats employee’s name in your post? So if they were to check this thread and see that name placing his job in jeopardy, do you think that’s appropriate?
