Ian didn't.The highlights look good.
Great contested mark and while he hardly has a laser kick, his technique seems adequate. Already miles ahead of the likes of ROB or the worst kick of all time, Paul Northeast.
Plenty of ordinary kicks have improved significantly with time and coaching to become deadeye dicks in front of goal - Scott Welsh, Brett Burton, Jay Schulz to name a few. Worth a shot.

You’re right but his helicopter goals were awesome
Get Tex and Fog coaching him.The highlights look good.

good callReminds me of JJ who we traded in aged 23 when he hadn't played a game for Essendon
Maybe Tex and Fog can teach him to kick. Decent guys around to help him.Can mark, apparently a top bloke and well liked/loved, a beastly figure but also hear he is a cross between Nick Gill & Ian Perrie when it comes to his kicking which isnt ideal. this trade makes no sense.
I can really only see him playing when Tex has a spell OR if there is an injury.

Is he tall/athletic enough to play as a ruck if ROB goes downhill?
Scotty Welsh and Jay Schultz were beautiful kicks. Burton poor technique but pretty accurate. Northeast had a terrible ball drop but still managed to hit targets from half back. The highlights look good.

The odd thing for me is why North were happy to let him go for virtually nothing. Rookie him, develop him, blood him, then let him go when the big boys always seem to take a bit longer to come on. Obviously didn't see enough in him to keep him for peanuts or don't have a need in that area.Chris Burgess is out of contract...
Right now, this is purely just us switching who our depth options are and keeping them fresh. If we get something more out of Maley, great and to be fair to the trade, going for more contested marking power in our third tall slot is definitely a viable way to approach the post-Tex world.
That said, expect that he's here for a year or two and never plays a game for us.
West AdelaideOr had other players like Goad, NORTH believe needs games in 2026 .....how do they manage that having Xerri as #1 Ruck ?The odd thing for me is why North were happy to let him go for virtually nothing. They have Taylor Goad, Callum Coleman-Jones, the 200cm Will Dawson who is quite capable as a chop out ruck all behind Tristan Xerri probably explains that. The odd thing for me is why North were happy to let him go for virtually nothing.
