Seems like Danny Röhl is strong favourite to take over at Rangers since Gerrard ruled himself out.

Rangers fans don't want him through looking at his 38% win rate, whilst Sheffield Wednesday supporters can't speak highly enough of what he achievement for them in his 2 years there.

We'd also been looking at Benitez apparently, but can't see it.

Rohl is a top quality manager.

Tough call for Muscat.

Rangers expectations don't match reality so in that sense it is a tough gig.

On the flip side is anyone else going to give him a better chance at it in Europe? Probably not?

Celtic are very ordinary this year but I doubt he has a hope of giving Celtic a 9 point lead and reeling it in. Celtic struggle to score goals but are solid defensively against Scottish sides so won't drop a lot of points domestically.

Next year Celtic will change manager and there will be a turnover of the playing squad so there will be an opportunity to flip it then.

Muscat wouldn't take over until the Chinese season is done so ideally for him Rangers would end up like 15+ points off Celtic before he took over and the league would be a complete dead rubber.

He would just have to get them to show a bit in the remaining derbies and he might get enough grace to attack the next season at full pace.

The owner is a complete lunatic, but it’s pretty obviously sacking Nuno was a mistake. Even the next manager could be on a hiding for nothing.

For Ange though, there are managerial rules in place for minimum payments, so at least he’s getting PAID. No need to feel too sorry for him.

He's probably got 10 million in payouts sitting there so I hope he takes some time and waits at least till January or better next summer to find a role.

I don't think he's necessarily done in England either, I can see him landing a Championship job. It's working well for Lampard after a couple of disastrous PL stints.

His PL days are numbered though.
