I thought we currently have 42 (38 main-4 rookies), the max list, size if the extra rookies spots go.
Had 46 (38-8 rookies) less 5 (Maley (r), Ford, Bergman, Teakle (r), KD (r)) plus Spargo.
So the amount we cut equals the number of list spots open I thought.

It's not common but happens. Tom Clurey in 2024 and James Stewart in 2023 as recent examples.
