i won't quote the posts because they're days old but saying cal twomey is an essendon mouthpiece is laughably deluded and frankly pretty sad. he's consistently been one of the few reporters in the AFL media who actually report the facts. he's reported what he's been told , and the article does not present anything except the facts at hand. it's insipid to suggest otherwise.

No, this is not a phenomenon exclusive to Hawthorn.

don't think the Hawks will add any "serious coin" to their offer, he will already be expecting very fair remuneration in his upcoming offer, and would have zero interest in joining the Bombers. Their offer would not make a lick of difference to the Hawks proposal.
OTOH, if a decent club like the Pies, Cats or Dogs came knocking, that would make the Hawks sit up and take notice.

Not sure the Bombers hierarchy fully understand the state of their irrelevance at the moment.

If Hawks try and shortchange him (I don't think they will), he might consider his options elsewhere.

He was also a big North fan growing up, if they throw a godfather offer at him, he might think about it too.

We had them a couple years ago… 6 year deal, big money iirc they couldn’t honour the contract so we changed brands halfway through.

Not that it has much to do with Weddle, unless you’ve put him up for an ASA promoting UA

We have a whole year before that becomes a possibility my friend. First we need Adelaide or St Kilda to blow us out of the water with a bigger offer, and then Carlton or Collingwood throw in an offer halfway in between.

Eventually he will toss up between the offers in front of him, with weeks of leaks and dick measuring.

Ultimately he will take 700 per year from hawthorn because they win a prelim next year and he’s high on endorphins when they put the contract in front of him.
