I keep hearing people say that Robey is explosive. I dont think he is. He is more bullocking in the form of Patrick Cripps. Hes got a big frame and forces his way out of traffic, but he doesnt seem to have the explosiveness people are talking about.

I want Duursma, Sharp and Cumming and or Dovaston

Which one are we willing to give up? Duursma or CDT....if we aren't that fussed then putting pick one on the table could get us 5 6 and the dons have to make a decision on who to take. We get the one they don't pick and sharp cumming at 5 6. 1 13 for 5 6 F2

Option 1
1 WC duursma
2 WC CDT
13 ??

No midfielder.

Option 2
1 ess CDT or Duursma
2 WC CDT or Duursma
5 WC sharp
6 WC cumming
2026 F2
There is no world where trading out pick 1 is a good option unless an absolutely ridiculous offer comes our way, like irresponsible overs from another club

It's not us chasing the deal though, it would be Dons targeting pick 2. So we don't need to do anything more for them.
I agree that they are chasing. But have they actually offered anything yet?

If they said that they are keen, but only if we get them 2 and 9 for 5 and 6, but we only offer 2 and 13, would we walk away from that deal? They may want CDT but i think we need Sharp and Cumming more than they want CDT. I hope we dont get too smart and end up with CDT who does not really fix any of our problems.

I understand this perspective but if we traded pick 1, we still land two of Sharp, Cumming + CDT and there's a world where we can do that without trading 13 or our F1, while picking up another high pick in this or the next draft.

I get people are attached to Duursma but imagine getting, for example, Sharp, CDT + Dovaston this draft, Cochrane + high end mid next draft, plus Warner. That's the core set and we're replacing the likes of Maric with better role players moving forward.

Yeah think we would, it's not up to us to get pick 9 for them, let them go and chase it from the Blues. Heck we can get rid of pick 9 from the Blues just by bidding on Dean, so could the Dons.

Eagles are more then content with taking 1 and 2 to the draft and using them.

Yeah, but would bidding bring 13 down 4 places to 9?

Exactly this :100::100::100::100::100::100::100::100:

We are not shopping the pick, it's incumbent on them to satisfy us, not the other way around.

When Cal was asked on Gettable (15.30 mark) whether Ess were targeting CDT he didnt seem at all confident and gave me the impression he knew something different, that something being that it is Duursma they are wanting.

This would make sense as they have one Duursma, went after Zane in the trade period and if they were to get Will they probably think they can then get Zane next year.

It would be a great selling point to their fanbase and they probably think they can build something special on the back of that family connection much like the Daicos and Ashcroft brothers...

What would be massive overs for pick 1?
5,6&F1?

I mean they obviously would rather Duursma - he's the clear number 1 talent this year.

But we want him too.

He hits a guy on the chest.

Your sons team must be incredible
No he didn't. It was a forward tumbling floater that fell short, which the half forward read earlier than the backmen. The kick barely travelled 40m. That's not an AFL standard leg.

Sure, everybody wants him. But it does make sense that they could be infatuated with the idea of three duursma's to build their list around post Merrett and the latest mid cleanout.

Can we have a poll on our preferred option with pick 2?

I'm firming up on entering the draft with 1, 6, 9/13, F1 (Ess) for 2, F2 (STK)

Here's a random little tidbit from

While any deals might not be done until draft night, West Coast is in the frame to grab pick 9 from Carlton in exchange for picks 13 and 34.

Such a deal would nudge the Eagles a touch higher up the board, while providing Carlton with a few more points for bid-matching purposes this year.

Not sure it was. Looks like he pulled the kick to me when he saw his options

How you can say either way definitively and judge the kids entire kicking skills on that is just beyond me tbh. Still hit the target regardless

Twomey was saying Farrow would be our most likely selection at 13 unless Sharp slides. I'd all but rule out us taking Sharp at 2 then. I actually think if it's not CDT at 2, it could be Cumming. Potentially a Taranto like situation, where he bolted up the rankings and GWS pulled the trigger at 2.

Was listening to Dan Does Footy and they have Moch draft with guy Called Dylan Alexander. Not sure if he is just a nuffy but he seems to know a fair bit about the players.

He has WCE with Pick 1 - Will Dursma - Pick 2 WCE bid on Zeke Uland. Pick 3 WCE - Sharp and then our next pick Farrow.

He's dajesmac's mate

Can't see any scenario where they would do that alone, but maybe with something else going back if they are truly desperate to create some kind of family dynasty, a F2 perhaps. Would CDT, Sharp and Cumming be better than Dusrma, CDT and pick 13, with Essendon's F1 in the bank.
