I don't know if this is the place to put this but it really annoys me that the popular opinion is that F/S and academy selections are a free his in the sense that they're just a bunch of late picks. All teams trade out their first round pick to get those players that go in the first round. They need the shitty picks to make up the points deficit. The most economical way to do that is to trade out your first pick and make up the points via 3rd round picks. No team as far as I am aware has had a F/S or academy player go in the first round and still been able to use their first round pick on another player.

If we (or any team) went to the and got a F/S or academy player at picks 1-5 and then were still able to use our pick 18 for another first rounder it would be as bad as everyone is saying it is.
