Dangerous game to play in a winter sport but with the women’s season finishing in November it’s a decent gamble. Also a young side that had clearly run out of steam based on the last few results.

Think that’s pretty stiff. Incredibly young and inexperienced side that had a massive crack and just started to get worked over physically as the game went on.

Played a lot of games in the wet this year (or more in the slick with a thin sheet of WA rain) and looked very good.

Sometimes you’re just too early to finals to make a big campaign of things, but they’re well on their way.

Need to do some serious work on fundamentals like hitting basic handballs and clearing from defence this preseason. Or some tough decisions need to be made on players who aren't able to execute that.

This as nice and as tempting it would be getting Eden Zanker , we really need to resist that temptation and keep our first round pick and add another Painter type and quality midfielder.

For the better part of the season our backline has held up well and our forward line talls are emerging, however we need quality reinforcements in the midfield.

Do this............ and we improve again next year.

Whatever knocks she has be damned, we should be working overtime getting Grace Egan into the team. Would be an instant starter in our starting midfield.

Also if Antonio is keen to go again, I’d be bringing her in. The list spots that were tied up with Hosking, then the mid season disappearance of Drennan, plus the SMac preseason (perhaps we replaced her, I’m not sure?).

There should be empty list spots for a seriously experienced player who might only have one year left but can hopefully add some serious intelligence and coach up the young group. I think we’d be silly not to, in game impact a bonus.

I have a feeling this off-season/draft/trade scenario is going to be a very defining one.
