Simmo era. Champagne footy in good conditions but falls apart in the wet.32-16 clearances. Tells you everything.
Gameplan built on elite contested marking has not held up at all in the last two weeks in the wet.
Add some midfield grunt and go again.
Think that’s pretty stiff. Incredibly young and inexperienced side that had a massive crack and just started to get worked over physically as the game went on.Simmo era. Champagne footy in good conditions but falls apart in the wet.
Dangerous game to play in a winter sport but with the women’s season finishing in November it’s a decent gamble. Also a young side that had clearly run out of steam based on the last few results.

as nice and as tempting it would be getting Eden Zanker , we really need to resist that temptation and keep our first round pick and add another Painter type and quality midfielder.Whatever knocks she has be damned, we should be working overtime getting Grace Egan into the team. Would be an instant starter in our starting midfield.Need to find a few more players who hunt the ball like Ella and Loosh.
Also if Antonio is keen to go again, I’d be bringing her in. The list spots that were tied up with Hosking, then the mid season disappearance of Drennan, plus the SMac preseason (perhaps we replaced her, I’m not sure?).Whatever knocks she has be damned, we should be working overtime getting Grace Egan into the team. Who knows, maybe she can bring over a McKenzie along with her.
I have a feeling this off-season/draft/trade scenario is going to be a very defining one. Also if Antonio is keen to go again, I’d be bringing her in. There should be empty list spots for a seriously experienced player who might only have one year left but can hopefully add some serious intelligence and coach up the young group. I think we’d be silly not to, in game impact a bonus.
