Nothing in there says we will get 4x double ups right, just that it's possible?

I look forward to our double ups next season:

2x Geelong - So Harley can sing the Cats song twice.

2x Collingwood - So Harley at least gets that true MCG experience of playing in front of a big crowd. Might happen twice if Collingwood simply refuse to travel.

2x Hawthorn - So Mitchell can get a 2nd(3rd) date.

2x Brisbane, both at Gabba - So Harley can fund the AFL Xmas party with his fine money.

Correct but if a one win team doesn’t get it, hard to see any one getting it right?…….
I assume it's been done more for logistical reasons though, giving St Kilda or the Dogs or GC or someone random 4x in their third allows the AFL to end up more easily schedule all the Collingwood blockbusters they want for example.

No doubt that would be a reason but the afl also will try to avoid 1 win seasons as much as they can but it’s the afl so who knows.

Yeah, "can" doing a lot of heavy lifting. Reckon we'll be lucky to get 3 against the bottom four.

Related but not the same thing, at times it's felt like they've been trying their best to give us double ups against the bottom 6 team "most likely to rise", but this year I genuinely find it hard to see any of the bottom 6 getting better and out of the bottom 6, so...now I don't know! ¯\(ツ)

The AFL needs to prevent the non Victorian clubs travelling every second week. They have to figure out a way to allow each team a 4 week stint at home.

So for us...
Round 1-9 home and away

Round 10-15
Home game
Dockers home game
Home game
Norf home game Bunbury
Home game
Bye
Home game

Round 16-23 home and away

So first 9 weeks and last 8 weeks travel every second week, but broken up with 7 weeks in Perth in the middle of the year.
We're playing "away" v North at optus in 26, not Bunbury

What's the most remote part of SA imaginable for them to schedule it at? Snowtown?
Probably Coober Peady or its lesser known satelite town of Andamooka. Unlike Coober Peady where they dig into the ground to build houses out of the heat, the ground at Andamooka is too hard to dig into so they just shovel gravel and shit atop the tin sheds that pass for dwellings.
This should advantage WCE with the likeness to MRP.

EDIT: I see beaten to the punch by Elite Pete.

Just to further paint the picture, when I was there as a kid in the early 90s, the Andamooka pub had a public vote on the upgrade of the main street. Should it be:
A) Bitumen?
B) Gravel?
C) Leave it as it is?

D) Jack Watts

Hopefully our bye comes a bit earlier next year. We could have done with it a couple of rounds earlier this year. Team was running on fumes.
A slightly more mature list with better depth that is ready for AFL - like adding both Dev and Fin Macrae should go a long way to help this.
More players ready for AFL(particularly ready for midfield time) means we can rest players more readily, or just manage them in game

That being said I hope we arent the first bye anyway

We've already been told through our memberships that we were getting 12 'home' games, so playing Geelong away twice would've made the fixture a little weird(er).
