Doesn’t seem to be many pick swaps.

I would have thought the Lions, Blues, and Suns have traded for points.

Suns have 7 list spots open and 7 picks… couldn’t trade any picks until the draft starts

We can once the draft starts trade 15, 18 etc for another 6 picks for instance giving us 13 picks to match bids.

Lions, Suns, Swans etc will do live trades on the night. Bookmark this and come back to me once it happens

Not sure there will be a lot of demand or these clubs will get significant returns for their picks like previous years
Suns 15 & 18 will be desired but not too sure which team has significant picks to satisfy the suns
Nort look the obvious club but the draft looks pretty average at the suns picks all the way to #30
Not too sure i would chase a pick that could end up around 20-23 and give up too much when i know they could get wiped out if i dont trade and my picks move up 2 spots if they cant get a trade.

Which teams do you see coming for #15 + #18

If that can still happen then that loop hole needs closing.

Using 13 junk picks to land 2 x top 5 talents should not be allowed, needs to be some restrictions in place to end the farce.

Feel the changes made this year are good and are heading in the right dirrection, still loop holes to close.

Make a real point and start bidding with pick #1 Uwland #2 Patterson #3 Annable and blow up the draft
Its only $10,000 that Duursma misses out on and im sure thats easly fixed

No real point unless WC fancy bidding on one of Addinsall/Coulson/Murray. Even then the Suns might still get the points.

I'm sure Zeke Uwland would be delighted to be known forever after as a number one pick though

They won't close this one as it adds to the drama on draft night, giving AFL more event selling points to media.

They have reduced the DVI already so any accumulation of lower picks won't get a first round match. It'll be a second or third at best, care factor is low if junk picks float around for matching at those levels.

Not sure what you’ve heard but I thought Cal clarified this week that Crows F1 is not on the table

Doesnt have to be the Crows
Its been reported both Collingwood & St Kilda are looking to get into this years draft and there are always clubs that see a player they want still on the board and trade into the draft for that player similar to North last year giving up pick #4 for #27 + What could be #32/#33 this year

I think the earliest Dean gets bid on is with Richmonds pick #4 that will end up #7 after Uwland , Patterson , Annable
so Pick #7 bid and matched with #12 with #14 going back to around 20 ( have not done the match)

Who knows what the rules will be next year. First, AFL said they will announce them before trade period. Now apparently in Dec. Just terrible from AFL.

I bet there is some strong resistance from clubs with top prospects like Carlton, Port. It would not shock me if the rules stay the same.

As a Suns fan, I have to chuckle a bit. We loaded up 2 years ago and again this year. Now with unified rules for F/S, NGA, academy these predicted rules should bite clubs hard.

Some media speculate Suns rate Murray higher than Addinsall.

It depends on when bids come. I suspect Addinsall could be available with early bid.

I don't think it would bother Suns to go to deficit.

How do you get Murray either?

If Uwland is bid on at pick 2 that is 1952 points and if Paterson is at pick 4 that is 1569. That leaves you with 252 points + F2nd and F3rd for both Murray and Addinsall.

This would mean that if either Murray or Addinsall are bid on before pick 30 you go into a deficit to get either of them. If either get bid on before pick 20 then your point deficict would stretch into 2027 to match any of them. You also have Archie Hill next year too.

Let's say Uwland and Patterson bids are picks 2 and 4. That is still needing 200 points but as matching later picks are used they move up so basically current 3773 covers Uwland and Patterson.

Let's say WB use pick 14 on Murray. It will become I guess pick 19 due to all early bids. That's 716 points required.

Sun could try to trade in extra pick(s) or may get more extra points when trading picks.

Coulson is highly likely late pick in 40. Easy to match. His father is official number 1 Suns fan.

I suspect if both bids on Murray and Addinsall come 30+, Suns will match both. Bid pick 30 - 408 points required to match. If both bids come in the first round Suns will match only one.

Except for Patterson all others have strong home factor attached. I would actually prefer Addinsall to be drafted by other club. Not easy to break into the line up. If he makes it, let's bring him home in 3 years, haha.

Next year I would expect 1-2 good players leaving with picks coming in as a result. Just imagine price on Humphrey's head (not saying he is leaving, haha).
