Could have been better. Murphy Reid was a Richmond supporter. Could end up being a big miss.
Michael Richards Ok GIF

You're nowhere near as bad as this year suggests.
Plenty of good young and mid-age players.

Yeah that's actually my concern. In terms of actually building a list that can consistently challenge for top 4 I think we're miles off.

We're every chance to bounce back to mid table next season with a normal amount of injuries.

FB: Redman - Mckay - Ridley
HB: McGrath - Reid - Roberts
C: Duursma - Durham - Fiorni
R: Bryan - Merrett - Caldwell
HF: Kako - Caddy - Perkins
FF: Guelfi - Wright - Langford

Will surprise people who think we suck next year for sure especially if Reid and Ridley stay fit but where is that list going? Obviously we could pick the eyes out of the draft the next two years and turn it round but given our regular butchering of top picks I'm not holding my breath.

Geelong's

On the road to nowhere, driving off a cliff Thelma & Louise style with an older Dangerfield as the driver and Bailey Smith in the front passenger seat.

Half forward line looks very good.

At this point, it'd have to be Melbourne.

Traded out big names, average draft hand and haven't really bottomed out yet. They are looking at further bottoming out before things turn around

Huh?

I'm not sure you've actually looked at Melbourne's list.

We've got a good collection of youth already and two top 10 picks this year plus 2 1st round picks next year.

I'd much rather our position than a lot of other teams, Carlton being one of them.

You’ve been saying that for over a decade
The funniest part is it was Hawthorn who went flying off the cliff, climbed back up only to get knocked out in a Prelim by Geelong when it matters. A humiliation ritual for our good friend Xtreme if ever there was one.

On their home deck nonetheless.

I'm still marvelling that a team can finish 8th in the H&A and end up with a home ground advantage for the prelim (and granny if they'd won).

Pies. List is in shambles with the cliff fast approaching.

Pretty much no assets of value on their list unless they lose Daicos to Tassie against their will.
They'll just bring in talent through FA. Life is pretty easy when you're Collingwood. They can even make the AFL bring opening round to Melbourne because of the 'unreasonable travel burden'.

Going to be hard to secure FA's when Tassie comes in and has an extra 5 mil a season to tempt players their way.

Yep.all the good FAs will be dying to get to Tassie and finish their careers with bottom finishes

Alot of "could's"

We couldnt take everyone, plenty of clubs didn't rate Reid or Shanahan and preferred others.

This narrative that Reid is a big miss for us is weird.

Yeah that's why I said 'could be'. Nobody has a crystal ball and it's unfair to judge in hindsight. I get that you can't get every player in.

The reason i mentioned Reid is because he was a Richmond supporter and was the MVP for Vic Metro in his draft year. He was staring them in the face. Watch his draft highlights, he has come exactly as advertised. Couple that with the fact he won the Rising Star and it is not a long bow to draw in suggesting he 'could be' a big miss for them. He'd be going top 3 in every redraft at this very early stage, most likely to Richmond based on the draft order.

Essendon I think.

They lack top end talent except for Merrett who is 31 and wants to leave.

A lot of their young players haven't really come on. They've blown a fair few top picks, and overpaid some pretty average free agents.

Fixable through good list management, but not a great spot to be in since theyve already been out of contention for a while.

Collingwood age profile is horrendous. Reckon they go off a cliff but cant pick them as worst while they got Nick Daicos. Best player in the game and 22.

Richmond need to get their draft picks right or it could be really bad. To early to judge.

Melbourne could be a surprise packet next year with a new coach and game plan, the list isn't as bad as people make it out to be and a few tweaks could see them play finals next year.
