It’s the VFL remember….they get shafted all the time. #vic#VICBIASPort getting allowed to add a 17 year old to their academy is beyond a joke. I’ve got no idea how they came to that conclusion.
Gone there to teach them how to duck into tackles and earn frees….5 years after they keep whingeing about Weightman and just in time that the afl change the rules"So tell us Toby, what does it feel like to win a final?"
Good chance he is in the top couple so like Carltank with Walker are going to have to pay up.It’s the VFL remember….they get shafted all the time. #vic#VICBIAS

We have a total of 3 picks across both drafts. So if we pick someone else with 53, we miss out on Darcy altogether.With BAKER and O'DONNELL upgraded to the main list I think puts the count on the main list at 35 players (correct me if I am wrong) and we are allowed up to 38. I keep seeing speculation that we can only use 2 of our 3 picks and going to trade on the night. Is that being driven by the belief that "Darcy II" is already slotted for the last main list spot? and we are unwilling to risk losing him if he is bid on after our pick and doesn't make to the rookie draft? As much as I like the nostalgia/hope I think if there is player we believe has more potential at 53 (could be in the 40's by the time it is used) we would use it. Especially when the alternative is a clear rookie prospect if not for his name.
I think ppl are forgetting that any players tied to clubs that don't get bid on become a cat b rookie including F/S.Looking what Twoomey wrote today, it looks like we have more room than that. He's suggesting we use 3 picks and get Darcy in the Rookie draft. If thats true and he shows half of what his brother can do with his reading of the play.... he could be a huge rookie pick.

I swear I've seen f/s as cat b rookies before but I maybe getting confused on it.Not according to the rules
In addition to these six rookie-listed players, each club can include up to three additional players (now referred to as Category B rookies) on its Rookie List provided the player either:
- has not registered in an Australian Football competition for three years immediately before inclusion on the Rookie List;
- is an international player, meaning he is not an Australian citizen and has not lived in Australia for a substantial period;
- is a former NSW Scholarship player with that club;
- is a former International Scholarship player with that club;
- is a rookie Zone Selection for clubs based in NSW or Queensland.

Welcome back.Hello all, greetings after a long hiatus.
I’m a bit surprised that we weren’t more ruthless in our list management this past few weeks. I would have culled a couple under contract for next year to free up some spots for a couple more kids to come in.
If we do chase Butters successfully next season, it will be two years in a row with minimum picks in the draft, just before Tassie come into the scene. Will be hard to get good kids then.
Might have been covered previously, but I have missed it

I'm normally in favour of cutting hard, not this year. I don't think the draft is very good, it's lacking both quality and depth IMO.
We at least have plenty of young talent coming through. Winning the VFL premiership is a good sign of that.
Probably wouldn’t have hurt letting either buku or Coffield go.Understand that, I just think sometimes we hang onto players for too long and miss opportunities.
Every single draft there are kids at pick 50 to 70 that go onto be gems - I would prefer to take a risk here and there.
A draftee defender isn't doing much next yearProbably wouldn’t have hurt letting either buku or Coffield go.

Shame he makes so many spuds look like Wayne Carey. Feel like he's going backwards tbhJOD speaks so well. Definitely has leadership potential. Excited to see what he can produce onfield. He made massive strides this year & will only get better.
Don't get the hype around him tbh. Feels like the next Cody Raak lol. If he had shown half his brother's potential he would probably not fall to the rookie draftLooking what Twoomey wrote today, it looks like we have more room than that. There's a lot of players for the dogs out contracts next season for a huge list change to happen so it's likely that dogs will go into next years draft looking to pick up at least 4 players.Hello all, greetings after a long hiatus.
