Well sadly even that spectacle fell victim to the woke mind virus for a few years and had to self reflect when they lost millions...hence they brought back Lima, Swanepaul, Hadid etc and guess what, sales picked up again...who would have thought😀

If the world wanted a bunch of tubbies in Vic Secret catalogues, surely the Crows girls would have gotten a call up

This won't go down well with the medical profession...of course the Cats coaches wouldn't have ever pressured their medicos to get the players back out there especially before concussions came more heavily into focus...

Geelong drags club doctors into Max Rooke’s concussion lawsuit, club slammed by medical professionals

Geelong is facing a concussion lawsuit spearheaded by former cult hero Max Rooke, but the Cats are trying to pass the buck onto current and former club doctors.

Geelong has dragged a host of doctors including its chief medico into a landmark concussion class action in a bid to put them on the hook for any potential damages.
Geelong chief medical officer David Long and former club doctors including Peter Larkins, Hugh Seward and Geoff Allen have been named by the Cats in a third party notice as part of the class action led by premiership player Max Rooke.
The club is seeking compensation from each of the 12 doctors who worked at the club between 1985 and 2023 if it is ordered to pay damages to Rooke and other players.
Former Collingwood and Melbourne club doctor Peter Brukner said the proceedings were “just another reason” why medical professionals would be deterred from working in the AFL.
The other doctors named in the third party notice lodged by the Cats in September are Andrew Irwin, Drew Slimmon, Chris Bradshaw, James McLaren, Peter Ryan, Gregory Lindquist, Jeanne McGivern and Kendall Brooks.

Dr Long, who joined the Cats in 2021, recently replaced Gold Coast doctor Barry Rigby as president of the AFL Doctors Association, the representative body for the club doctors.

He declined to comment when contacted by the Herald Sun.

Dr Brukner said an AFL club doctor who was found liable for damages would face significantly more expensive insurance costs in the future.

“Why would you put yourself out there? Why would you bother, getting paid bugger all, to go through this if anything goes wrong?” Dr Brukner said.

That was daniel_4tw who said that, and besides, I’m not sure how she feels but I class Mostyn as a friend.
Oh haha. I know Mostyn and his wife might disagree with your description. Twerp.

Are there actually still people who sprout this rubbish? Gullible fools.

Good luck, Harry, if this happens.

Aren't many club doctors volunteers too? Or are they a more professional role these days?

Not sure but I think AFL club medicos are on retainers to see the club players as a priority outside of game day as well. Someone maybe across it more than I am.

My understanding is it's a paid role, but not full time. The doctors will typically work at a private practice and allocate some time (eg a day of the week, on call, emergency time, etc) to handle the AFL team

Good on Harry for getting another chance, and hopefully he becomes their Ben Keays.
