If the bid comes at Pick 6, we'd use Pick 17 & 23 to match it and have our remaining 3 picks left, pending any further trades.
Also need part of pick 44 to match it at 6, which will slide back to around 49… then slide forward to somewhere between 41 and 44 when all the picks in the 2nd round are wiped out matching other bids. Also pick 17 more likely to be pick 19 and pick 23 probably 24. Kinda hard to do the maths, given there are too many unknown bids to factor in. But maybe someone else has done it.

Phantom Draft late mail: Intrigue over Tigers' picks, Bombers' big haul
Richmond met with Brisbane Academy prospect Dan Annable on Tuesday and is expected to place back-to-back bids on Gold Coast Academy talent Dylan Patterson and then Annable before making their picks that will shape the order.
...
Hawthorn has also looked at trading up from its second pick, starting at No.22, to see if it can shift to the Suns or Lions' picks in the teens, while the Western Bulldogs will remain open to a move down the order for the right deal

Pommylovescarlton has created a fully functioning draft simulator. Just need to do the rumoured trades, and his simulator will work all the math and pick slides out for you.

Conole answering Twomey about Murray in next year’s draft, words to the effect of “he’s certainly in the discussion to be part of the top group”.

Rortastic.
Honestly, I’m getting tired of the academy churning out elite midfielder rorts, year after year. Where are the key position players? At some point, it starts to feel like a production line tailored for one role. A bit of diversity wouldn’t hurt and it might even make the system look a little less cooked.

Gallop? Payne? Andrews? Hipwood?

Don't confuse draft position with how good they go on to be. Would you rather have had Jamarra Ugle-Hagan or Jack Payne?

It's actually better if they're not rated before they're drafted and only emerge afterwards, because then we get them for a lower price and can draft more talented players to surround them with.

Yes, I understand why they might not pick a Lions player. However, there is also Dean (Carlton) and the two highly ranked Suns players. Anyway, we will find out later I suppose...

All the phantom drafts are tipping WC will bid on Uwland and Dean (after they make the SENSATIONAL decision to pick a "duursma" #1).
