Unbelievably, Suns still have picks 48 and 49 tomorrow, if I read correctly FoxSport.

Sorry, but I had a good laugh watching Eagles room when Suns matched bid on Addinsall.
And so you should. Those other clubs bidding on your players so early is just wrong., spiteful and cheeky I think. The AFL need to put a stop to them bidding on your boys so early

Hope he actually goes on to star for the bulldogs.
The more clubs bld , are encouraged to bid the better.
Also paints a black mark against the northern club not matching

Why? Perhaps they don't rate him? North bid on a Lions player a few years back out of spite like many clubs are now. Lions passed and the North guys were pissed lol. Hoping that the Dogs wasted a pick.

Out
Flanders
Malcolm Rosas Jr
Ben Ainsworth
Brayden Fiorini

That is a fair few players. That is where they got the points for today from, along with the picks they were already assigned for the 2025 draft.

I'm not sure why you keep trying to make these arguments.

The Flanders trade haul and their first rounder was used on Christian Petracca.

Fiorini was a (late) future pick.

The others were traded for 1 pick in the 30s, a pick in the 50s and an upgrade in the 60s.

If you bundled all those picks together in a trade, you couldn't get close to any of the picks they used tonight. Which is the point.

They are stockpiling later junk picks that would never be able to be traded into the first round and using them on first round talents. Players that they've been able to bring into an elite environment for years prior to drafting (a major reason they are top prospects in the first place). They can then afford to trade their usual picks back in the draft for even more elite players because the point allocation doesn't match real worth.

The system is broken.

Did Essendon really knock back this year's 1st and next year's 1st from Adelaide for pick 13?

This can't be true

Adelaide's first this year: pick 22
Adelaide's first next year: likely even worse given that there are at least 6 guys looking like first round bids already.

And that's before band 1 compensation is factored in. Not as crazy as it sounds in a vacuum when it's written out like that.

Maybe Im getting the 3 of you on here confused, but weren't you the Suns poster who said you wanted him to go to WC to develop?
No, I really did not care is he stayed or went to another club. Not ideal for him to stay I suspect, not a lot of opportunities.

Seeing Suns making all those picks trades and simulator saying Suns had enough points to match I suspected Suns will match especially when Suns told him they want him. Not sure what Twomey was talking about in his Phantom.

Surely, Eagles knew Suns can match. I also would expect them to watch Addinsall's interviews like me where he said Suns told him they want him but it depends if they will have enough points.

We were clearly in the market for a half back and he was the best on offer, plus leadership and character has been a big focus in recent years and he’s got those in spades. I think he’s a good fit and can’t imagine we’re upset to have gotten him.

While not a huge fan of their picks tonight, absolute gold trading by Hawks to get two extra seconds in a strong draft for basically nothing. Way more teams should be leveraging their teen picks like that.

Looks like Essendon are going to win another Draft.

Quite baffling how they're so continously shit after 20 years of 'A+ grade' trade and draft periods

What do those campaigners do on the training track?

Well, tonight showed that the bid matching still needs a lot of work.
No- it showed you don’t know how bid

You could’ve had your GC player if you had drained GC of points with an early bid for patterson

Instead you bid on Dean which meant we had to give up our two firsts- which is fine for a pick 3.

But don’t whinge about the matching still needing work because WCE stuffed their strategy. Your f2 to come up one spot? Sheesh- we would’ve given you 9 for your 13 and f2.

Evidently you didn't lol

A lot of the players we've taken have either required way too much physical development to be high picks or some variation of undersized, poorly skilled, hate contact or single position. That isn't the case here, most you could say is Sharp has only passable footskills and Farrow hasn't displayed too much contested craft yet, but for their positions likely could still be very good players even if that is evident. Rosa and ROB ain't Dodoro, they have some idea what they are doing.

In all seriousness, was that the offer? Be disappointed if we didn’t take it
Not a scoob. Would've assumed 13, 34 and Saints F2 for late picks? Don't really care, didn't mind what we came out with. Losing the F2 sucks but there's pretty strong smoke that Hawks pulled the old "whoever pays more gets Lindsay" to us and the Doggies

And just to confirm you didn’t get hawthorns f2 back?

No. There'd have been a billion times less melts if that was the case. Idk how people on our board misread the trade, there was never anything to suggest we did.
That’s steep, and the helping hawthorn out pisses me off 😂

But the picks are all a bit meaningless- it’s the players you bring in that that matter, even if when picked the perception maybe that you paid a high price or odd trades etc

So lemmy get this straight WC essentially traded a 2nd round pick (courtesy of Liam Ryan)in a much stronger draft and p18 for pick 17!?

-to move up one spot and grab the player they were pretty much going to get at 18 anyway??

Wow at this rate eagles fans be hoping for Brady Rawlings to come back

Word is it was a bid-off between us and dogs for Lindsay
