My understanding is that if we pre-list him then he's ours.

Although Geelong striking a new deal with the Turkish government as their next rort is fine by me. Let's see how far we can stretch our reign.

For some reason i thought we'd be able to trade back in if some of those names kept falling, i also assumed we'd be able to match for Mellor but guess that's off the table now if another team swoops in and tries to draft him. Really not happy with the Holmes pick now. We've passed on some real talent here.

No if mellor gets through we can pre list him cat b before the rookie draft
(Although in that scenario we would have to draft rongdit in the open cat a rookie draft or not take him at all, we can only pre list one not both).

Depends - anywhere between 0 & 3 live rookie draft picks

We've committed to rookie listing both Stevens & KM-F, but can't pre-select either, so their open to being picked up by other clubs before we can reselect them

If we manage to land both, it would mean 1 live rookie pick

But, is we commit to pre-selecting both Mellor & Rongdit, it would mean no live rookie picks as one would be a Cat-A rookie and the other a Cat-B rookie

Occam's razor: They just might not actually be that good, and I say that as someone who has been sucked into the 'draft slider' numerous times over the years.

It's almost always a fallacy, particularly in a weak pool like this one.

Just had a quick look through Max's draft (2020)... that's gotta be a candidate for the worst draft ever. The top 10 is a disaster zone and it doesn't get any better from there.

The only players taken in that entire draft that you'd even consider ahead of Max are Errol Gulden and Riley Thilthorpe.

Jeez those household parties for those kids who don’t get drafted would be pretty agonizingly awkward at the end…. You would want a pretty solid indication of being drafted if you host one

Which is interesting as this from the other day read like we had nominated both as NGA, but were more committed to taking Rongdit as a Cat B

Gee that Wells interview was interesting.

Hunters selection had nothing to do with Max being here.
We were given specific instructions by the coaches as to what types of players they want for the future.

Wells called Hunters mother yesterday and told her we'd take Hunter if he was there at our second pick.

As for Mellor, he wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the draft. But if he doesnt, we will definitely put him into Cat B.

Both were senior listed and we needed to open 2 spots to meet the requirements for 3 draft selections - Mullin's elevation to the senior list covers the 3rd pick

KM-F is contracted for next year, while Stevens was out of contract but we're using this as an opportunity to give him an additional year of development

Haha full credit for going all the way back. That’s a huge effort. Could’ve also found my response for knevitt, cooper Stephens. Get some wrong and get some right. Hope I’m wrong here.
