Maybe lacks the burst speed but if we was starting in 2025, considering he's only 192cm and an uber elite kick (maybe the best I've ever seen) he'd definitely play some midfield minutes as a junior.
Walker would have been a great winger .....but the Crows built up his frame to play as a KPF, putting that option to rest

Where is he from and do we have a history of players from this club/region? Thanks in advance.
LOL
He's from Fischer McAsey country, Melbourne Bayside suburbs, Vic Metro, Sandringham Dragons, private schoolboy (Brighton Grammar), similarly a father that's a rabid St.Kilda supporter.
Other than that came into the season one of the higher rated tall forwards before an ordinary start to the season for Brighton Grammar in his 6 games at that level, very ordinary at the Nationals for Vic Metro in his 3 games before doing his PCL against the Allies.
On the bright side his 3 Coates Talent League games were much better netting 10 goals including a bag of 5 against the eventual premiers the Eastern Ranges.
Also impressed early in the season for the AFL Academy team slotting 3 goals against Richmond VFL.

Get the feel Hamish and his crew must have really liked his impressive underage year for Brighton Grammar and the Sandy Dragons.

The Watts departure always stuck in my craw.

Just has a dominant final for WWT, we're crying out for key-forwards, he decides to go and play for the club his Dad is CEO at where he is (checks notes) behind Gehrig, Riedvwolt and Koschitzke

- If memory serves correctly he asks to leave the next day

Some top names in that Eagles side that day.Knight, Vince, Watts,Stokes . I believe it was Bernie Vince's 1st match.

It was

a mate of mine from the Yorke who played against Bernie and alongside him in underage WWT sides told me that Bernie had stepped back from footy earlier that year for various reasons - he got a call up when WWT reserves had lots of injuries and they knew that Bernie had just moved to Adelaide for work and was still eligible to play for them

He hit a purple patch of form in the 2s, probably because he wasn't paid enough respect as a country kid fill in, got called up for senior debut for finals and played the GF

Then got drafted by the Crows a month or so later

sliding doors stuff

I love the "he was actually a highly rated talent and secret first rounder" cope that you get with late picks. It's a Bigfooty tradition.

Yep, the true order is the draft order. And you can get a good read on the quality of the draft by the moves made on draft night.

A couple of clubs traded out of picks in the 40-60 range for basically nothing. 4th and 5th rounders. Suggests there was little to no interest in the players available at that point.

I highly doubt clubs would pass on the opportunity to draft true first round talents with future 4th/5th round picks. Which suggests those players were overrated in the media.

That's not to say drafting Ludowyke is a fail, it's just the reality of picks around 50, they are speculative and most clubs don't highly rate who is available in that range

Unfortunately better era for Centrals. They smashed the Eagles in the GF. :'(:'(:'(
I heard they even considered renaming Woodville Oval to Gowans Oval, given how they repeatedly owned the Eagles in grand finals.

Was one of my favorite Crows players. So sad when he left.

100%

I had a job for a couple of years selling merch at Docklands stadium

Was working a game there in Vince's first season for Melbourne - Vince and some others were having a kick/warm up near the stand I was setting up an hour or so before the game when not many were around so I wandered down and let him know that we all missed him at the Crows

He gave a thumbs up - that was enough haha

It would be an interesting game to pick the top 20 from any given season and rate them in order of how they have truly progressed. I wonder if they would be close.

Sandringham Dragons - source of some of our more painful draft misses, McAsey, Fergus Watts, the quickly departing Gunston. Josh Worrell's probably our biggest hit, also have Edwards and Nank currently on the list.

The trope is they're homesick mummy's boys, largely derived from the affluent area and the rage at Gunston leaving.
McAsey and Watts were very high picks. Gunston and Worrell in the late 20s. Hopefully being a later pick, means he'll work harder and repay the faith. At that point of the draft, Twomey predicted it to end at around pick 55, so there were only so many more names to be called and Crows may have been the only team remaining that had enough meetings with him to suggest it was a possibility. No wonder he was in his room when his name was called.

It's hard to see what Hamish saw in him and his game, looks very underwhelming.
Good luck to the lad but I don't see much that will translate into and AFL footballer
I think Hetherton would have been a bet choice
