I am never disappointed in drafting talls even if we think we have decent cover currently. Can never have enough
Think we really needed to go tall. Looking at Footscray we would only have Khamis, Smith, Gardner, Walker & W.Darcy as talls. (If we go with the same set up in the senior team as we did late)

Getting another athletic tall, Especially one that can play anywhere, was important for coverage & our future stocks.

Have got room for another Doc? I know you love my nicknames dogwatch

Surely this guy is Doc Emmett Brown….or does that get shortened to DEB cos we have a new Doc….

Which means his new nickname is Dallas

If you know, you know

We just hired a bloke named Dallas at work, took .03 of a nanosecond before we started calling him Debbie.!

Here is shifters write up, i feel this guy will be putting pressure on our talls for a debut sooner than expected.

Louis Emmett
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Oakleigh Chargers
Community Club: Glen Iris
Date of Birth: 23/03/2007
Height: 199cm

A ruck and tall forward, Emmett uses the ball effectively on his preferred left foot while his overhead marking is a real weapon. A very mobile player, he is still developing his ruck craft but had a major influence at the U16 National Championships in 2023, where he averaged 18 disposals, six marks and 15 hitouts to earn All-Australian selection. After a very promising bottom-age year in 2024, Emmett again caught the eye early this year with the Oakleigh Chargers and when representing the Australian U18 team. He showcased some of his abundant talent against VFL side Coburg, recording 15 disposals, five marks and a goal while splitting his time between ruck and forward duties. Despite some injury challenges with a hip flexor issue, Emmett was prominent for Victoria Metro during the National Championships, averaging 12.7 disposals in three matches. A former rower, he showed his elite aerobic capacity with a time of 6:07 for the 2km time trial at the national Draft Combine, which ranked third overall and was a special result for a player of his size.

He has abit of size about him & is obviously super fit already so he could definitely play games in 2026.

Could genuinely be developed at either end depending on our needs. Makes him a very valuable pick up.
I'd prefer we just stick him at fullback and let him develop there. I think he has the potential to be the number one guy back there, the position we have been crying out for someone to fill.

The agility piece is huge for me, means he won't be a lumbering tall wherever we decide to play him. Am claiming him he hasn't been claimed already!

Agree with this. I’m happy to back-in the Darcy, Naughton, Croft tall forward combination, and if one of them goes down then go with just 2 and more forward time for Davidson and Bont.

Will be interesting to see how we line up our talls in the VFL though. Buss might play AFL along with Lobb and JOD but that still leaves Gardy, Walker, Darcy Jnr and Emmett as tall defenders. One of them has to give Buku a hand forward.

Walker was pretty capable up forward when played there.
