what a campaigner comment !!! talking crap about a tiger player over some non-tiger!!

geelong may not have wanted retschko, but we clearly did

remind me, which clubs wanted louis ?

if he's any good he'll earn his spot through a train-on, that's if we have any interest in him at all

We nominated him, clearly there was the intention to draft him. I don’t care if the kid plays at Richmond now, but I’ll call out a potato when I see one.

Go watch some footage of Kellaway and come back. Campaigner comment honestly.
I could pick 3 players on our list id remove for Louis. Including some random potato we traded before the draft who Geelong didn’t want.

Telling someone to ‘watch some footage’ and then stating Retchko is some ‘random potato’ is ironic to say the least.

If you watched any of Retchsko in his draft year last year you may see that he isn’t just some ‘random potato’ and that he’s a better prospect than Kellaway is; and I like Kellaway plenty.

Kellaways are Richmond royalty

In the Richmond dictionary under the definition of courage is a picture of Duncan Kellaway.

But you need to be a true Tiger to understand that and obviously one import has no clue of what Richmond is.

.
One of my absolute favourites...Tough AF...But you don't get away with just that these days...Hopefully Louis gets to work on what he needs to, but he may need to knuckle down for a year in the SANFL...

Big difference between nominating a player and taking them. Collingwood did the same, did they not, with McGuane? That’s the system

who cares about kellaway, he wasn't good enough to get a pity bid at the end of the draft like the 10 or so other club linked players, and if he also doesn't get picked up in the rookie draft by another side then again, who cares if we don't grab him

in a draft class that everyone has been going on about how weak it is, if he can't get a look in, why would we feel bad he's just not good enough at the moment

late draft pick father sons these days are no good anyway, no naishs (or mrj if he can't turn it on this year) please
Only complaint I have is nominating him as father-son and then not picking him up.

Not as bad if we gave him notice, but the draft is such a big night for every teen hoping to get drafted. I feel for him, we probably got his hopes up. If he’s worth it, then we’ll pick him up in the SSP

Taylor grilj kellaway are who we are taking we are bluffing the other sides

This is our draft haul

We will take kickett or scherri as a rookie which ever is still available

No pretty sure Collingwood didn’t nominate McGuane

I find it odd that we would nominate him and then not add him straight to the rookie list. Clearly a couple of players we still like are available

He’ll surely be a train on player and hopefully he gets that last list position

Just because you have a famous name, doesn't entitle the player to a place on the playing list.

Football ability should be the prime criteria.
Sentimental decisions rarely end well, especially in football.
We spent two-and a-bit decades bringing back every favourite son, club legend etc. to no avail in the 80s, 90s and 2000s in every capacity imaginable while there were simply better people out there and paid the price for most of that period (the Northey years an exception, albeit he honed his craft elsewhere). Most feel-good stories don't end well.
The fact we didn't jump is a positive sign.

I have no issue not taking Louis, 17 other clubs passed, obviously recruiters are uncertain how his game stacks up at AFL level.
I’m guessing as the ND unfolded we got 4 mids/smalls that we rated higher than Louis. It the becomes a list balance issue, no room for sentiment.
Re nominating him, I’m not sure why we did that.

Wonder if we were never going to take Louis, even with 20 picks, but we nominated him to try and trick another club to bid on him in the "free" range, so he gets on a list.
Yep and sometimes I wonder whether the tooth fairy is real but I don't start pulling out my teeth to find out
