2025 List Management Discussion - Part 5

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

We were on a buck show and Ross was there with his wife and some friends drinking cans standing in front of us.
We gave him a bit of banter which he had a laugh about and then a few of us went over and had a chat with him for a while. He was a ripping fella, had a lot of time for us

I also had a mate that was rookie listed in his last year as coach and he reckons he didn’t even know his name. Had his 24-25 favourites and the rest were just warm bodies

I have a feeling Walsh is a TDK situation where he has already decided to join us and it will be a fait accompli for most of the season.

Can't find that in the stats unfortunately - in his 20 games against the Saints he got a total of 15 free kicks

When Geelong last year were touted to take Doddy ahead of us but instead surprisingly took another ruckman I can’t remember his name
Has he played firsts? Don’t think so but has anyone kept an eye on him, did we win that pick????

Geelong selected Jacob Molier with its pick 52 which was just before our pick (53) where we selected Alex Dodson. Both players played for Sturt in the SANFL and both played in the ruck. However, from memory Alex Dodson was the higher ranked of the two players.
I can recall being very surprised when Geelong selected Molier ahead of Dodson, as I was hoping St Kilda would pick Dodson in that 2024 draft. So I was quite happy when Geelong didn't select him.
I'm pretty sure that Molier is yet to play a senior game with Geelong.

Might be a bit of a morbid take but I remember in his draft year his best mate commuted suicide. He said he wanted to do everything to honour his name and rase awareness for the issue. Playing for the saints on spuds game might be a good selling point

Fixing a problem 45 years too late, we expected Mornington Peninsula in the old VFL zoning. While we got Plugger,Byrnes and Spud from Ballarat, we missed a heap of players who went to Hawthorn.

Asked the same question a month or so back. Crickets. Seemingly no one here follows Geelong that closely which is not a bad thing.

We've done very well out of that - and it'll be interesting to see what we do with the area that Melbourne has done very little with. Also quite pleased that although Hawks are getting up in our space with their Dunghill... Dingley training base, this isn't reflected in the NGA zoning.
