Very happy with the Peucker selection , He was not who we all had in mind and all thought it should be NHH or Phillipou
But thats because we never seen Peuker and was not in the main stream media as a top selection but our recruiters clearly did their home work on him and decided he was our man. 17 years old and goes like a bull at a gate and extremely powerful , fast and has a nice leap.
Who would swap him for NHH now ?
Not many i think
Our own Bewick?!!!

Last time we had a head to head tall and small we took Kaelan Bradtke didnt we?

Cant remember who he beat out thoughoh thats right it was Sparkle Narkle

Talking nonsense mock drafts etc how many missed out on mock drafts to that we're supposed to go. So many clubs recruit players out of the blue or not we're so called experts rate them. Very weak argument

Talkiung nonsense? The draft analysis thread has over 250 pages of complete nonsense. Know how many times I commented on it prior to the draft taking place?

Nil

I don't talk about shit i don't know. I have SFA idea on any of these kids and had no interest watching U18's footy, the same way i have no interest in watching AFLW. I can barely watch AFL and not fall asleep these days as its boring as ****. Meanwhile, the rest of the people here spoke about it, non stop, quoting Phantom Drafts, Rookie reports etc etc etc. They made post before hand saying "this guy", "not that guy" - spoke like they actually know something.

Then when the draft happens and the players we take are not remotely close to who ANYONE here wanted, people like to forget it was them starting these narratives. Wasn't me. Peuker was not raised once from what i can see as a prospet the fans wanted, but the club had different ideas and used a pick 31 on a guy who was between 55-90 on nearly all phantom drafts.

End of the day, the club made the pick and they will be judged on it. not me. But, I will definitely be doing the judging

Bro then why do you care so much to argue?

Bro then why do you care so much to argue?
I argue back.

My opinion on him & Grlj is - if this was the clubs stategy, then trade back and get some more future assets.

My overall beef with the clubs list management is they have been very one minded.

We are winning so let all our fringe players leave for free and not be concerned at the loss of assets

We think we can maybe win one more, so lets trade 2 years worth of picks on mature age players.

We are rebuilding, therefore we are not going to take any mature age players for 4 years.

We lack experience so lets re-sign busted older blokes who have some on & off field baggege to provide it.

Even with a situation like we had with Brandon Ellis, offer him a better contract to force the Suns to offer him a slightly better contract to ensure you DEFINITELY are getting a higher end compo pick for a bloke you took in the first round and been a good player for us.

The clubs lack of creativity and imagination has been underwhelming to me. I think we likely could have traded down and got a future 2nd back and still got Grlj, & if we missed out - still probably gotten a player with similar ceiling potential be it not as "fast". Peuker was a massive shock call for a pick 31. We basically traded a ready to go Full Back who will walk into senior footy for a bloke projected to go between 50-90 & could take 2 years before he is considered AFL standard.

I watch, alot, of NBA have have so for years. I'm telling you - the path to rebuilding is use all mechanisms, all the time, to get players in, & out - as fast as possible. Giving blokes like Ryan 7 years is not it

But that's easily explained...
The Club have a Management Plan in place...commencing from previous years...
And are focused on getting the best outcome for it, which is building the next Premiership side.
What you or I or the other 1,000's of supporter want...don't count.
They are the guys paid to be in charge of this rebuild.
Only time will tell if they are successful...
In the meantime...the old adage applies here...only old women and barking dogs complain and comment about a job half done...
And the Management Team would rightfully want to avoid compromising their plan by picking unsuitable players when their original plan was a certain style of player...
The old adage applies here too... "don't change horses midstream"

We can all agree that SR is a bust...but he's our bust.
And he's our best bust in reserve, while we only have Nank as our first Ruck...
SR continues as our bust while the Club picks the best required players out of the last few drafts for their future Premiership Team build...
SR is a bust until the Club decides the time is right to move for a new ruck man... The Club has the intell...
Currently, the Team does not require using draft picks on Rucks while we sit near the bottom of the ladder...
SR is a bust till the Club decides to move on and take advantage of Free Agency...
In the meantime...whether you dislike it or other supporters like it is irrelevant...
Basketball with fewer players is not like AFL's bigger playing squad...where we can chop and change players...
AFL even has the luxury of time for so-called Project Players...
SR is currently our bust Project Player...

This is all pie int he sky stuff though, like you said, you know **** all about the draft, so why get upset about something you know nothing about?

if you try hard enough, you could literally find a reason to get upset about anything, and you seem to be hell bent on it for the sake of it.

I could not get past this line and continue to read on as it would just push my blood pressure out of the ball park.

How do you know they did not try to trade back ?
Just about everything the club has said pre draft indicated we are open to trade back.

BUT THERE WERE NO OFFERS THAT WERE ACCEPTABLE TO STILL GET THE PLAYER WE WANTED - GRLJ

Seriously you must be living under a bloody rock the last 2 months

Well, I will tell you this now. The club won't give a shit about your judgment. Neither will just about all Big Footy Tiger Posters.

As you said, you know nothing. It's pretty hard to be any sort of effective judge when you know nothing but just use hindsight to come up with criticisms. That's actually pretty pathetic. Most reasonable people will say that getting every pick correct is impossible. We often look back at past drafts, and in many, only a small handful of players succeed from them. We do much more work on players than Fox Footy "experts". Just support the club and its processes, and unless you actually really know more than the club in an area, STFU.

I do not know enough about what is going on.

power of hindsight

I would have loved to have more picks in 2025. Would have loved to get Sharp. Reckon Essendon got a steal with SHarp, can bookmark that, A student as well.

Would have loved to have got CDT.

But very happy we got Cummings. If we did not get Cummings, OMG, my mood would be far worse.

Would have loved to get Barker to. Reckon, Geelong got a steal, but I think there are some others underrated to.

It is funny. Some going on about Jagga Smith etc..( not talking about posters here) but I would be surprised Jagga meats high expectations of some.

Smillie was always a question mark for me. I hope he goes well though.

Glad we got Hotton, glad we got Trainor, I do not see massive F ups. I think Faull can play back and I like his competitiveness. Obviously Lalor good. Happy we traded out Rioli and Shai, so can't complain too much generally, Wanted Simms to and I like the look of Alger not sure about getting some smalls earlier in the build but we have to have a more balanced list and get others and I can see some sense in their selections so happy to run with it.

Armstrong could work out to , value, and NRT, I think that was value to so happy to run with it

we are too early in the build to say our players will do this and that and we need this and that, we just need to let them grow and organically improve and combine and see what happens a little I think.

So with Peucker one can see how he could be useful, and just see how it goes and how he develops

I think it is more about getting best talent in, the players will help the coaches find the best way to kick a big score and stop the opposition scoring helping us getting where we need to go as they develop and know more about the best way they can play as a team and individually

i am looking at this with an open canvas a little bit, see what happens

I do not know the best way to do it but I get the impression it does not pay to develop tight. What I mean be that, without killing the kids and throwing them under bus it is okay to expose them a little and do not overly instruct them. Like the players have to find their own mojo, their own gel, their own one woods and what works for them. No one can tell them, the players have to find it themselves is my impression. FInd more talent, expose them, help develop them, do not be afraid, it will come, confidence and belief will grow as their pathway gets clearer. I do not think it is a top down thing, rather more bottom up so bring in more talent and young talent is a massive firestarter. Tasting a bit of muck is okay, it helps with the fire in the belly, toughens them a touch and helps forge the surge and bounce when it comes upwards ideally

I think we all feel good on drafting Cumming. This years draft was a tough gig - the academy system fk'd us good & it made what should have been a era changing Pick 2,3 to be more of a "handy" draft. If we could have walked away with Pattison & Cumming, I would have been extremely excited with 2025. If it was Uweland & Cumming/Patterson - i would be wondering if 2024-25 was a going to be one of those drafts periods like 06, 07 & 09 where all the Main Characters of our dynasty formed.

Peuker from what i learned of him seems like a fun prospect & will be a guy you really want to see go well. If we had taken him in the 50's I would be onboard 100%. Watching his highlight packages and reading the scouting reports I think for him it will come down to if he can bulk up while maintaining his speed to be able to charge in at the ball & break the tackle.

There is absolutely no doubt at all about this kid maintaining his speed or his ability to baulk up
at just 17 years of age and a player thats just taken footy seriously he already has a very good frame and runs flat 2.9
Without being in a AFL club where he will have so much help from sports Science , Dieticians , Coaches and fitness staff doing 5 days a week full on training and playing in faster games. In 3 years once he builds his tank watch out
This kid is one player that flew under the radar imo.

That isn't very comforting. Should've been traded a year ago. better suited to the mixed netball comp.

Mr Magic are you by any chance located in Qld? And if so, do you happen to have the license plate "Mr Magic">

If so, I was tailgating you on the freeway to the Gold Coast today

Nah, I am in South NSW, but I have a feeling some in Queensland resonate with me. Don't know whether it is my title or what not but I know the odd one or two from a Queensland location where trying to tap into my circle( through BF mechanism) for whatever reason

I used Mr Magic after back in the day Lou Richards would call Maurice 'Mr Magic' in the call and if people saw me use this, as a header, some might tap into my vintage( sort of an indirect indication I have been following RFC for a while), others might think other things like mushrooms etc...lol
