Cannot stand how Australian broadcasters have this fetish for inserting random commentators into sports they've got no idea about. Speed and Hudson add zero to this coverage except making it obvious they've got no knowledge of the game.

Can only guess the thinking is that non-golf fans might benefit from a familiar voice like Speed and Huddo. The former doesn't bother me as much as the latter.

I went along today for the first time ever to watch professional golf.

Got there very early 6.45am and it was already crowded. Watched a few of the Rory/MinWoo/Scott grouping but crowd got a bit uncomfortable so dropped back to watch a few other groups
Enjoyable experience. You get to see a lot up close, but not on all holes. Its a reminder how long and straight nearly all the pros hit off tee which is amazing for the hack 20s handicapper to watch. The other thing is how slick the greens are compared to my experience.

RM is great to walk round too and tread a top class course.

Anyone remember about 20 years ago or thereabouts when they couldn’t even mark their bell on the 10th I think it was because the wind would blow the stationary ball off the green (billiard table)?
