Why do you say this? You don’t know the full story!! Maybe her boyfriend beat the sh*t out of him? Maybe he stood by her? Maybe he had nothing to do with the family after it happened and supported her?!!

“He told the court Silvagni had suffered additional punishment from the extensive media attention, following the suppression over his identity being lifted on Thursday.
Silvagni should also receive a lighter sentence because his time in custody would be more difficult due to his poor mental health and risk of suicide, Mr Hallowes said.”

"I ain't saying she a gold digger..."The girlfriend who was at the house and is still with him needs her head read.
There used to be a reality tv show where they did lie detector tests and revealed the results live on air.Amazing how many people get caught via something daft altering electronic documents. Unless you are really really good it can be picked up from forensic document analysis with relative ease. And the prosecution are absolutely going to spend some money on any electronic receipt presented as some kind of alibi
Lawyers actually has one of the highest rates of depression for a reasonYep. His "mental health" is in the tpilet because he got caught and convictes of one of the worst crimes imaginable.
Disgusting behaviour from those about how Tom should be protected etc but nothing about the victim and her mental health.
I get lawyers need to do what's in the best interest dor their client, but still, it's so scummy.
If St Kilda was a respectable club they would part ways with Silvagni immediately. But it's St Kilda. His statements imply the female victim is lying even though the court found otherwise.
Let's hope he is better at handling a bar of soap than he was a footy...In a taped phone call, he told the victim that she should "just move on with her life".
Why? Since when have we punished parents for their adult childrens problems? If St Kilda was a respectable club they would part ways with Silvagni immediately. But it's St Kilda.

Has nothing to do with St Kilda.
?Unfortunately I have been in the victim’s situation. No one ever believes women when they’ve been r*ped! And… this is just another case of that playing out… sad![]()

Well his son is a convicted rapist and he is publicly proclaiming his innocence. As a high profile employee of your cub, you don’t think that might be an issue and a distraction for your club? Why? Since when have we punished parents for their adult childrens problems?
Has nothing to do with St Kilda.
Not really. He's supporting his son.His handling of this has been shocking.
No, it's not an issue that he's supporting his son, and choosing to believe his son. Not an issue at all.Well his son is a convicted rapist and he is publicly proclaiming his innocence. As a high profile employee of your cub, you don’t think that might be an issue and a distraction for your club?
No it protects people who weren’t involved. Tom didn’t avoid conviction because of the suppression orderOfc they wanted the suppression order to continue...
It's there to protect the perpetrator more than the victim.
The thing is while false accusations exist they are definitely quite rare. Most men who are accused of rape are usually guilty of it, even if it can't always be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in a court of law.
Can understand the Silvagni family backing their son, but not sure it was wise to come out and make that statement. Better off just saying the matter is still being dealt with in the courts, and they won't be commenting at this time.
