Amazing how many people get caught via something daft altering electronic documents. Unless you are really really good it can be picked up from forensic document analysis with relative ease. And the prosecution are absolutely going to spend some money on any electronic receipt presented as some kind of alibi

There used to be a reality tv show where they did lie detector tests and revealed the results live on air.

The funny thing was, no matter how badly someone failed the test, they could still just respond by saying the test got it wrong and it would always leave some doubt as that was always a mathematical possibility no matter how strong the result was.

The only people who were completely ****ed were those that tried to use tactics to cheat the test. It always failed and it was the only way you could be 100% sure they were lying.

Horrible story, poor woman, its good if some sort of justice gets done because a lot of assaults go u punished.

No, it's not an issue that he's supporting his son, and choosing to believe his son. Not an issue at all.

It's there to protect the perpetrator more than the victim.

No it protects people who weren’t involved. Tom didn’t avoid conviction because of the suppression order

The thing is while false accusations exist they are definitely quite rare. Most men who are accused of rape are usually guilty of it, even if it can't always be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in a court of law.

Can understand the Silvagni family backing their son, but not sure it was wise to come out and make that statement. Better off just saying the matter is still being dealt with in the courts, and they won't be commenting at this time.

They're in an extremely emotional and distressing time, if you were in that situation you wouldn't be saying the perfect things either

They will appeal the sentence stating mental health, like they've already done to get/uphold the suppression.

"He was on bail for 2 years and was an exemplary member of the community" blahdy blah.

The mental health aspect re the suppression was based upon him not being able to adequately be capable to assist his defence. It wasn’t an attempt to alleviate sentence or as an excuse, he denied that straight up. You need to understand the difference between the matter itself and the continued suppression battle.
