I wouldn't know that either. Was flabbergasted today whilst in the Hawks Nest shop at KCC the lady behind the counter, when asked by another customer, who wore number 5, she had to google it and was surprised to learn that James Worpel had in fact been traded to Geelong and he used to wear it, but Nick Watson wears it now.
Could not believe my ears. She genuinely had no clue Worps was now at Geelong.
I assumed all staff would be nuffies like the rest of us but obviously not. Was a bad look in my opinion…
Yes it's a bad look but you need to adjust your expectations in how football clubs are run these days considering they are essentially multi-million dollar businesses. They are not all run by volunteers who do it for the love of the club they are employees who get paid a wage and are hired based on their abilities not their club allegience. If they just happen to be a supporter that's a bonus (mostly for them). It may come as surprise but for some people working at a football club is just a job.Was flabbergasted today whilst in the Hawks Nest shop at KCC the lady behind the counter, when asked by another customer, who wore number 5, she had to google it and was surprised to learn that James Worpel had in fact been traded to Geelong and he used to wear it, but Nick Watson wears it now.

That makes sense, much easier to staff a small retail store too when you can have casuals cover shifts at multiple outlets if someone is sick. Instead of hiring 1-3 people to alternate the M-S schedule only to be forced to close if someone can't show up.The Hawks Nest staff work for Playbill, the company responsible for the merchandise stores of several AFL clubs. They are not necessarily one of us.

Completely fair expectation. Maybe the club accountant doesn't have to give a crap, but the people in that shop are going to be selling jumper numbers to kids, they should know whose number they're selling. Nothing to do with being a fan. If I go into an aquarium and buy a fish, I expect the guy selling it to know the compatibility of the fish I already have in my tank. It's his job to know this. This makes sense.
Was probably an unfair expectation on my behalf.
You'll be shocked when you learn about 40% of the office arent even hawthorn supportersWas flabbergasted today whilst in the Hawks Nest shop at KCC the lady behind the counter, when asked by another customer, who wore number 5, she had to google it and was surprised to learn that James Worpel had in fact been traded to Geelong and he used to wear it, but Nick Watson wears it now.
