No one said consistent, but they have had some success. Smith, Weatherald, head, Marnus, Carey all have at least fifties
And Khawaja.

Odds on for Australia but as Head proved in Perth it only requires one Pom to stand up and drag the rest with him.

They bat down to Jacks.

2 or 3 of them will bazball the shit out of it for a good start - very risky but with some luck could smash down the deficit.
They will also hope for 1 or 2 anchor roles middle order.

We'll give it a shake but I feel we're a bit short.

Ponting reckons we have enough so who knows...

If Ashes werent won there would be calls for a lot of players to go with that batting effort. Green and Weatherald with Paul Collingwood type contributions to the win

Still gotta replace all 4 and im not sure Webster and Renshaw are the answer either (although I think Renshaw would be a better option than Weatherald)
2 this test, other 2 likely in the near future.

Good bowling + braindead batting = another two-day speed trip.

Impossible to know if 175 is enough in conditions like this.

That said, if BazBall is gonna work anywhere, it'll be here - the low target and the lottery-like conditions incentivise a high-risk, high-reward approach.
175 is not enough in the conditions.
175 is well enough with the batting mindset of the match so far.

Never been a better chance for the Poms to win a test here surely.

But also, a test that will be over in 2 days probably. Its bad cricket.
