Was more to do with sending the no 10 out at 3, in a dead rubber, still with 140 odd runs needed, after being rolled for 110 in the first innings, after Bazball has been found out again and again this series and being humiliated all series.

And what did it achieve? Nothing

Crazy how bad footwork is on batsman these days.. head moves his feet he doesn’t get bowled, Carey moves his feet and he covers the ball … and doesn’t glide it to slips for practice
I shit you not, coaches are coached to teach young players that getting your foot to the pitch of the ball isn’t important anymore. As long as there a weight transfer to the front foot and your head is over or close the ball at the point of impact that’s ok. All good golf they’re batting on a highway but any sort of movement and you’re struggling. I think it stemmed from the way KP batted

Looks like they're on their way to their first win in 15 years?
5-0 would've been delightful, but an Ashes win is pretty satisfying.

I didn't mind sending him out for a slog TBH.

They lost nothing.
Was worth a try.

Rightly or wrongly I'm happy that the bowling hasn't been able to paper over the cracks this time. Might be the wake up call they need to make some changes to the boys club that this test side has become.

No one in the top order should be safe apart from Head and Carey. All other batters have failed this series.

It won’t be.

Another 60 runs. That's all it would've taken.
220 would have been enough… but when you throw wickets away with reckless abandon knowing you aren’t going to be dropped because of being a “generational talent”
Or you are still getting a game after averaging 29 the last three years batting at first drop then you get what you get.

Or you’re Smith and you don’t hog the strike when you’re batting with the tail.

At the match - both days. My 2 bob's

1) drop Green for Webster - more consistent bat. Doesnt matter that Green is a better bowler - he isnt bowled anyway.
2) tell Khawaja he's getting picked for Syd but that's the end for him in test cricket.

Renshaw cant be far away as either an opener or number 3

Battings been poor this series but I reckon it'd be real unfair to judge any bats based on this shit tip

It was challenging but it was very far from an all out for 100-odd minefield. Curator stuffed up the chosen height and compounded it with a slow outfield but the batting technique and application was effectively zero.

Reeked a bit of the Aussies knocking off early in England the last 2 trips, once the urn was retained.

Michael Vaughan is 100% correct, Australia got complacent and it has cost them the game.

Cameron Green needs to be dropped, because if he doesn't put value on his wicket, then he doesn't deserve to be in the team, he keeps throwing his wicket away FFS.

Weatherald has been found out at the highest level, his technique is not up to test level, was worth a try, but it hasn't worked.
( Makes you wonder if the selectors are familiar with the name Matthew Thomas Renshaw )

Give Khawaja his swan song at the SCG and then thats his Test Career done and dusted.
Thank you for your service and now enjoy the rest of your sporting life, enjoy your golf.

As for the pitch ... well what a piece of shit that was.

Cricket Australia would be spewing that the biggest Test Match of the year, at its highest attended venue and biggest revenue earner, is over in two days, this would be a financial nightmare for them, when coupled with the Perth Test, is a massive kick in the nuts for their income stream.
