Right about what? You said both teams had to let players go, Saints43 asked which players did they let go and you responded with you didn't say they had to let anyone go.

Did GWS and Carlton have to let players go or not and if they did which players did they let go?

It's pretty scary that Carlton had to 'let players go' to manage their cap, when they've peaked at a 13 win home and away season....

They got rid of a few mate, Owies, Marchbank and there's ex GWS players playing everywhere so enjoy Silvagni as your list manager.

Hopefully we don't lose anyone of the quality of Owies or Marchbank because of SOSs crazy list management.
Especially 5 years after he finishes in the role.

Have you ever considered just admitting that you made something up because you wanted to win an anonymous internet argument?

Owies who joined Carlton at the end of 2018 as a cat b rookie and only at the club with SOS in charge of the list for one season in 2019 had to be moved on to free up cap space?

This is the interesting part. On paper it does look like Carlton have gone backwards

The side however is a lot more balanced and less predictable

They’ll either improve or fall further.
 
Do Carlton need to enter a rebuild phase or do they need to get a new coach who has the capability to make the right tweaks and get the most out of the current list? You only have to look at Collingwood to see what can be achieved with the right coach at the helm remember they finished 17th before McRae arrived.

you cant tweak bkloke sliek Young/McGovern and Williams out of being soft cox M7 =- all you can do is pu tin replacements who were coming back from injury...and cross yoru finhgers.

Few good positive signs to look forward to from the game the other night.

Lord, Moir, Jagga, a fit Sam Walsh, a rejuvenated Marc Pittonet with clear air in front of him.

I dont expect anything to eventuate in the 2026, nor 2027 but the seeds are being sowed
 
Carlton need to rebuild, but they can't sell another rebuild to the supporter base after all the years the club spent on the previous failed rebuilds.
They have Smith, Dean and Walker which is a good young core to build around for the future.

What they need to do is work out how to best utilise late draft picks, as well as rookies.
The best clubs tend to get great value out of late draft picks and rookies, rather than relying on first round picks to try and build a side.

'Rebuilds'?, we have only tried it any form of sincerity once, in 2015.
