I see your curator is still useless as **** Art Vandelay_

5-11 after bowling QLD out for 149 on day 1.

Horrific.
Neser 3/9 from 9. Should have played more tests ahead of the Trundler.

Barking up the wrong tree here IMO.
Can't see anyone elsewhere on the site seriously blaming this on the wicket. Utterly horrendous batting from both sides.

Usman - New ball seam movement.
Marnus - Missed a straight ball.
Weibgen - Looked horrendous all innnings. Nicked a straight ball.
Hearne - Left one angling into the stumps. Straight ball.
Burdon - Got a rising delivery. Batted well.
Neser - Thick edge to another rising delivery.
Kerr - Nicked a straight length ball.
Peirson - Strangled down the leg side. Off his trouser IMO.
Straker - Flashed at a wide half volley.
Ryan - Nicked a wide half volley.

MacDonald - Tried pulling a short ball that swung away late. Top edge.
Kellaway - Possible feather on a straight ball he should have left. Wasn't happy with the call.
Brasher - Shouldered arms to straight ball.
Perry - Chopped on to a good ball.
Harper - LBW shouldering arms to ball that seamed back.
Dixon - Missed a straight one. Thru the gate.
O'Neil - Missed a straight one. Thru the gate.

Certainly sounding like someone who didn't watch any of the match or the dismissals.
Both sides under strength. Bulls without Wildermuth, Clayton, Bartlett and Renshaw. Vics without Harris, Peake, Sutherland and Boland.

Sounds like the same tone that was struck around the test match. Victorians will defend anything Victorian until they die.

Ball was moving off the seam a lot. A lot of the "straight ones" were seam movement but you know, lets hide the facts.

I've watched all the Victorian dismissals.

The pulled short ball had nothing to do with it, granted.

The rest could all be pitch related. Poor batting sure, but the ball is still doing a lot off the pitch.

Interesting you seem to think that the runaway leaders at the top of the table could be 5/11 and it just be down to lack of talent.

What would Handscomb and Neser know about it aye. Both said it wasn't doing too much.

Nonsense as above.

Pitches all over the world swing, seam or spin. FC players should be able to handle a little of all disciplines. Nothing with this pitch is too untoward on day 1.

So you're then suggesting that the top 2 teams of the Sheffield Shield just all don't know how to bat.

Boy are we going to be in trouble in the national side if that's how bad the top teams are going in the domestic comp...

Yesterday had 6 mm of grass. You watch the dismissals and while most had been good bowling, it was in conjunction with poor batting. If you work hard you can score runs.

All you're doing is confirming you barely watch S.S cricket. They've nibbled around all over the country for a few years now. Certainly since covid.

For over a century long form cricket has been a format where batsmen have to contend with ball movement. For lots of the time with uncovered wickets. Now a touch of movement is indicative of a poor wicket... Apparently.
Bias sports supporters hate being called bias.

We’ve seen the same stuff for years.
Adults are talking. When you have no insight to offer it's probably best to butt out.

Well yes mate, I do work full time. I don't have the luxury of sitting around and watching all of the Sheffield Shield games.

Ahhh so the MCG wicket was just a touch of movement. Shouldn't have been rated poor by the ICC at all.

At the very least, surely you would concede the optics are incredibly poor for a curator that's just been dragged across the coals for failing at his job.

I reckon most of the guys who comment regularly on domestic cricket on this site also work.

If the test pitch didn't get a poor rating nothing would be getting said about yesterday at all.
Perth was also a two day test yet escaped scrutiny. No one blaming WA being 5/64 on the WACA surface... Or the NSW/SA match looking like neither innings will get past much more than 200.

Fail is an odd descriptor for a guy who has improved on the MCG wicket since being poached after the dull draw in the 16/17 Ashes.
No draws since and apart from 2025 most have been a result on day 4 or 5.

Are you in your Bojan is angry at the world era? 😂
your visibly showing little insight or knowledge of the situation and that you haven't watched any of it at all.
See now contrast that with someone who watched the days play and we have an accurate viewpoint...

Me calling you a bias sports supporters has nothing to do with a single game of cricket. It’s over a years long body of work.

Yeah.
Nah.

Interesting commentary from Bobby Quiney eth-dog

1st innings a wash due to poor batting by both states. Both he and Whitey talking about how the pitch isn't doing much but hard to start on, and looking like a good 3 days of cricket. One innings game and see who can get the score needed.

Feel like 300 is needed for Queensland. That was what was most frustrating about last night.

Burdon looks good so far.

They said nothing of the sort. They said it wasn't doing as much as the rest but it was still difficult

All games into the 3rd innings on day 2. Only two scores above 200. Post-BBL adjustments for a lot of batsmen.

Very good 4 day pitch at the MCG by the by. Seam day 1, days 2 and 3 were better for batting and then day 4 spin came into play for Swepson. Great work by Page

A full time curator knowing more than guys who check the odd scorecard. Well I'm shocked to be sitting here.
Maybe next time he can curate a pitch that doesn't cost the sporting body millions in lost revenue.

He screwed up the test pitch. Cool. He's gone off and the nailed the next pitch.

What do you want him to do? Fail again? The test pitch happened. He can't change the past.

I would have sacked him but that's just me. Good that he's learned his lesson, he's lucky he got the chance to.

For producing one below average pitch in 7 or 8 years? You're a moron.

Also he's not in control of that. You're bitching without cause about him for one mistake when he's been an overwhelmingly good curator for a long time.
