I mean I remember the time you tried to claim the level crossing removal was a failure because you had to stop at traffic lights in mooroolbark

I simply cannot take you seriously

Maybe it's the fact you said you were going to leave the state and didn't

Maybe it's the fact you bitch about immigration with that avatar

Dunno

Well it’s a fact that you spend more time stopped at traffic lights in some of these places than the train boom gates were ever down.

Lilydale would have had 1 train an hour on weekends, now on a Sunday the traffic is banked up to the top of the hill as traffic is stopped at the lights changing every 30 seconds.

But it’s the norm, the project was a good idea so you cannot criticise the end results and poor designs…

As for complaining about Immigration, where?

What did she say? I can guess...

"I am as horrified as you are".

"I did not know anything"

"Corruption is abhorrent."

"We have referred this to Police"
Went the Donald Trump fake news path.

if its a fact I'm sure you can prove it

6 trains an hour eddie but sure

also buses which isn't anything new

and there were already traffic lights for that prior to the crossing removal

traffic banks up around there because its busy, always has been

I'll get back to you later on this

Typical Allan/Labour deflection technique: Stand in front of an indigenous painting and falsely blame the hard-working private sector for the corruption that they themselves have cultivated.

The bad behaviour has been reported for years, now they're trying to shut down a royal commission.

Do people understand how much 15 billion is? We could literally not take a cent from beer taxes for 5 years and still not have made that money that’s been allegedly scammed off us.

Anyway it’ll be covered up with political talk and the Labor government will continue on.

It's a convenient number that has next to nothing to do with this bombshell report. It sounds like the usual suspects have added the blowouts on the Metro Tunnel, West Gate Tunnel and other major projects and made it out like the CFMEU ran off with all of it. I wonder which union in London scammed them out of £18-odd billion for Crossrail.

We're calling cost overruns and even additions to the PS&TR "scams" now.

They would have gotten 15 billion by asking a variety of project managers and directors involved on big build jobs and asked them what the union action would have cost them. The answers given would have been between 10 and 20% as is typically quoted when justifying why a union job has higher costs than a non-union job. The average of 10 and 20 is 15, 15% of 100 billion is $15bn qed

There is truth to the extra cost for union jobs, however
1. This only applies to direct costs excluding material supply. This is would be around a third of the $100bn figure
2. This won't show up as a cost-overrun because the cost of doing business in Melbourne is well known and priced in
3. Much of the reason for the 10-20% is simply EBA rates, which are hardly a scam.

Lilydale has 6 trains per hour on weekends. 3 down trains terminating at Lilydale and 3 up trains formed by said down trains.
and there were already traffic lights for that prior to the crossing removal
A pedestrian crossing which logic would say changes frequently. They actually did the smart thing and move it closer to the station and make them part of the intersection with the station carpark exits and William Street East and William Street West and the bus stops along those two streets.

yes and the buses used to trigger the pedestrian crossing as well as people going over the road

all the school kids that catch the train don't have to cross main st to get to the station now

the only people that would think it was worse than before are people who aren't local to the area / people making shit up so they can complain

"They" is Geoffrey Watson SC. His commissioned report came up with the $15m figure.

Watson said he interviewed an experienced industry insider who “estimated the actions of the CFMEU had increased costs by 30 per cent” but that other inquiry witnesses described blowouts of between 15 per cent and 20 per cent. None said it would be less than 10 per cent.

Watson settled on a “very rough” estimate of 15 per cent, describing it as “not unreasonable” and “probably conservative”.

“From there the maths is simple – the leadership of the CFMEU has cost the Victorian taxpayer something like $15 billion. There is another point to this – as will be seen, much of that $15 billion has been poured directly into the hands of criminals and organised crime gangs,” Watson said.

Man I hate being right all the time.

Anyone using the station from both sides don't have to cross the road anymore given they designed exits on both sides.

Something that should have been more common on level crossing removals

Not the only one either

Fair Work Commission general manager Murray Furlong also supported the finding of integrity expert Geoffrey Watson, SC, that CFMEU corruption could have blown out construction costs by 15 per cent, or an estimated $15 billion, on the landmark projects.
Furlong also did not dispute the report’s redacted findings that corrupt conduct could have inflated construction costs by 15 per cent, which Watson roughly estimated could equate to $15 billion.
“That figure is consistent with what I’ve heard from officials from the Victorian government,” he said.

Well, we know the difference between the CFMEU rates and the AWU rates. Perhaps Watson's mistake was asking for an estimate rather than doing his own math.
I would have thought it would be the smart thing to do. A SC should know better than to throw accusations around without proof.

Which was a reason given for the removal of the section from the report

I think we should expand the remit of Geoffrey or perhaps bring in somebody else to thoroughly check the balance sheets of every major alliance project that was delivered with a cost-reimbursable contract model (the logical place to start as the government would already have their own copies of the costings) and then you can see where the money actually went.

Well windmills swept the carpet already on this corrupt government already. Don’t mind another despicable collusion to finally rid this state
of the fraud innocent citizens have paid tell to. Absolute disgrace.
