That’s the only thing I can offer with why you’d go with only 24 instead of the max 28. You should be trying to get match fitness into the team, so you only want the extras if you’re managing minutes.

There’s something to be said for getting absolutely run into the ground exhausted, then coming back next week and finding things a little easier.
