We lost to a top 4 team from last year buy 12 points our best player had one of the worst games of his career and our forwards dropped 3-4 marks that should’ve eventuated in goals hardly a shocking performance , if you don’t see improvement in us as a side your just being stupid

Who said I don't see improvement? Who said it was shocking? Just making things up.

Collingwood added no one in the off season, and were without Moore and Howe in their backline.

St Kilda added two high profile free agents, traded a top 10 pick for Flanders and then brought in Ryan. General consensus was... OK?

Probably says a fair bit about where your list is at
That a backman who kept his opponent goalless was one of our better players. I dont know how the Tiger measure their better players but I see why you were at the bottom of the ladder last year.

Isn't the idea of spending $3-4m on new players to make the team better?

Saints fan logic is bizarre. Somehow it's a good idea to spend a bunch of money on some players that are OK so that they can play OK and not be the reason that you lost.
Last year against Collingwood, we lost by 30 plus compared to 2 goals this year. Three goals better already and will continue to improve as the season wears on.

Home game for Pies
StKilda 7 players less than 50 games 8 players younger than Collingwoods youngest.
That’s the difference in a two kick game.

Well this one's done and dusted Adam....guess after two months of trolling the Pies it's time you and your fake profile moved onto trolling....the Dees next?

The reason we lost had nothing to do with the players we brought tdk and sos played there part, Flanders was ok and Ryan did what he normally does a couple freakish things but not a lot else , we had opportunities to win and didn’t take them Collingwood did talk about a beat up
Was that was 2.6m worth of “playing their part”

Collingwood are currently a better more experienced in big moments team than us plain and simple , I believe we have bridge the gap somewhat the future for us will come down to how much improvement we can get out of young players like tauru ,nas hall Wilson’s, the difference between finishing top4 or twelfth has never been smaller plenty of very evenly matched teams

No one expects Collingwood to be Top 4 side this year though. 12 points in a low scoring game isn't anything to crow about either fwiw.

I think Keeler just has to play until there's a better proper key forward option. Frees Owens up to go up the ground more and it just gives another marking option i50. He's not going to win matches off his own boot but hopefuly what he would bring strucurally works better.

Yeah. They're complementary pieces, not your #1 and #2 spearheads.

If King is there last night and in form, those 63 inside 50s convert to another 3 or 4 goals or more. Another 1 or 2 that King kicks, and 1 or 2 where he makes a better contest, and multiple Collingwood defenders are required in the pack, ball goes to ground and Higgins or Ryan or others get involved.

I'd say King is the 3rd most important player at St Kilda behind Nas and Wilkie. Very frustrating that he hasn't been consistently healthy in 4 years.
When is King coming back? It feels like he last had a run of games as recently as Steven King.

Funny how sad Collingwood fans are, you win and instead of being happy, ypu guys troll hard against an "irrelevant" club.

One game out of 22, lets see how we go in the season.

Pies had to play well for most of all 4 quarters to win, so the Saints have improved. A lot of it was the new blokes.

Saints didn't lose because of umps or wasted chances, their gameplan is predictable . Mad dash down the boundary line, ragged forward entry (often ludicrously shallow), passing shot back the other way.

After 15 minutes they're spent and vulnerable. In the first it felt like it took us maybe 5 minutes to bang on more goals than they did in the first 15.

We controlled the game tactically, Lyon had no answers.

Frampton had some brainfarts and Buller struggled to escape Silvagni (who also helped out others, good game) otherwise we got value from everyone.

We tend not to waste energy on blow-outs.

Why did Brandon Starcevich move to eagles?
To get away from Zorko. He's horrible.

You do know this is a footy forum where people discuss footy and it’s pretty obvious the saints have spent all the cash overpaying 2 people
Not obvious at all, think about the fact we accumulated 20% of our last two cap spaces and that went majoritly to Nas and TDK. We also traded Steele who would have been on a decent salary so why would it ve inconcievable that we still have a lot of space in our salary cap.
Who else vesides Nas, and TDK are getting the big salary?

Collingwood still need a full rebuild seasons end.
Let’s see where Collingwood are end of year.
Falling over the line against StKilda at home is not the end of it.
