What he’s settled on is 10+ contested possessions, 8+ score involvements and 6+ intercept possessions. Whether you agree with the metric is irrelevant, but apparently only around 30 players achieved that stat grouping into 2025

Murdock had 14 contested possessions, 8 score involvements and 5 intercepts - so just one off

Staying with triple DOUBLE stats:

+ 10 cont, +10 marks, +10 tackles.

although Harley will be first to achieve it with +10 Frees against.

Anyone got the pressure act stats from the game? Is Milan leading it?


What really stands out is his terrier like attack on either a loose ball, or the ball carrier.

The amount of times the ball is flicked out to a GCS player in defense and i'm like "Someone tackle that campaigner..." and Murdock comes sprinting in full tilt from off screen was crazy. He had closer teammates to the opposition and yet he closed down the space quicker than them and was the one to put on the tackle and/or pressure act.

I saw a lot of this from Dev and Bo Allan as well. There was a lot of zip between the 3 of them defensively.

I think it says something about the merits of coming from the WAFL or somewhere else established and coming straight in. Not everyone can do it, but to not be able to overthink it or hyperanalyse every micro detail. He just came in and killed it.
