A 195cm, 95kg Idaho State guard from Launceston has declined offers from the NBL and US college system to join North.

Riley and Cal saying on Gettable he's due to arrive in Arden St in the next two weeks.

Welcome Lachy!

Welcome Lachie!

That's a big call to make - good on him! What's the connection with North? Someone mentioned possibly same age and town as Colby?

Love to know the back story here. Welcome.

Edit - would have helped to watch the clip first. Was part of our academy squad when U12 and played with Sanders and Colby. Maybe our first-round form gave him the confidence to commit!

He was in our NGA as a 12 year old.

The Nostradamus, to a man every person I spoke to about this the last couple of days thought of you first.

These people all bigfooty posters?

Or have I transcended broader than that

Some are, all were. Though I hear if you ask Clarko a twinkle will appear in his eye.

Creating player threads before they've actually signed is bad juju.

Just ask poor Zac Becker.
I think the evil spirits make an exception when you've got two fellows streaming from inside AFL House saying its a go-er.

Perhaps turning down lucrative offers elsewhere if he knows there’ll be a lot of $$$ about for tall Tasmanians when the Devils come in?

All else fails, we get overs for him and draft capital if he is pillaged.

But hopefully - he’s a gun and plays for us in our next premierships with 30+ other guys.

Maybe doesn’t like the prospect of being overseas, or indeed in the US in the current environment.

No offense to him, but do you really think he's going to be a high money target for any team as a cat B? He'd have to come in and be the second coming of Carey.

Feels like high risk low reward type of option.

Hopefully 1 yr contract and then see Lachie Brewer's progress on whether he can make it at AFL level.

Did Brewer test at the AFL draft previously or did he choose college basketball without testing at AFL Draft Combine?

Given Brady's bringing him into the club, let's hope he has AFL fundamentals down pat unlike our last Category 'B' Rookie - Eric 'The Beast' Wallace.
