Why we will never win a flag under Nicks.

I doubt the Crows will get smashed by anyone this year. We are a good side with quality all over the ground. The team also has that intangible you can't teach. A mighty will to win.
We are a good show of winning this week.
For me it comes down to the coaches box now. Not the quality we have on the park. We have the cattle to challenge anyone but do we have the game plan?

Unfortunately we have an experienced coach still making the same rookie errors... so that all comes down to a lack of IQ.

He won't suddenly increase his brain capacity with experience.

Look at the games last year esp Sydney at SCG, home game vs Port and Gold Coast at home. That was some of the most amazing football I have seen the team play in a long time.

But then look at the way they play when they are under pressure, semi final for example. You don't get many chances at this, you blow it and you never know what the following year will bring.

I'm sure you do Sam... as you outsmart him everytime!
I just think the pressure of finals got to him and the players last seaosn. He did finish top of the ladder, so there is something there

Anyone notice the level of emotion Nicks shows in the box, with Davis next to him attempting to keep him calm ?? I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the box on game day. I think Murray has significant influence on strategy and might be pulling more levers than we realise. Yet to be seen whether that is good or bad.

Well whichever one is giving rematch speech needs to stop & handover to someone else.

Correct, Nicks just doesnt have that look about him that he is going to be a premiership coach does he. surprised he lasted past 2024. Last year was a flash in the pan and we got found out when it mattered.
We are not going to finish above the likes of the Suns, Dogs, Swans, Hawks, Freo, Bris or Geelong this season. we are in that 7th-11th bracket, i think. you watch us be the first casualty to lose a wildcard game.
Injuries arent helping and our ball movement isnt up to it. Yeah, we will beat up on the bottom 6 sides and break even with those around us but as for the top 6 sides we wont go close to them. Going to be tough to come back from 1-3 after this week.

Steven King on SEN yesterday saying he's encouraging them to play with freedom, defenders needing to learn to run and create rather than stay so deep as you can't score 100 points and win that way.

Extremely early days for him as a coach but could he already be better than the highly structured, defensive Nicks?

Going by your posting I think irrespective of who is our coach you'd say the above.

King's credentials are excellent, winning a premiership as an assistant coach at the Bulldogs and as a player at Geelong. He's also coached under Chris Scott and Ross Lyon.

That's the sort of experience Nicks doesn't have

Exactly, Nicks spent the majority of his career under Hinkley

Didn’t he miss out on the west coast job or interview because of a nervous break down or something like that?
