Don't you usually lose your way to a spoon rather than win your way there? Strange expression isn't it...I never want to win a spoon, it's not becoming of a power club like Richmond. Leave that nonsense for St-kilda.

Would rather the player at pick 2 than the 5th best player with the Western Bulldogs or Geelong's first rounder.Every chance we will be able to trade pick 1 for two very high picks plus an end of rd 1 pick this year the way things are looking.
1. Richmond bid on Walker, Blues match. Pick up our compo end of rd 1 pick, which along with our natural rd 2 pick is elevated due to Blues matching with picks prior.
2. Live trade pick 2 to Port for both their pick and the other pick they get for Butters(whether in a trade or as FA compo.)
3. Port picks the best player in the open draft.
4. Whoever finished 17th bids on Cochrane at 3, Port match with later picks, perhaps some of which are gained in the Butters trade, elevating both our end of rd 1 compo pick & our natural second round pick further, along with our 3rd rd pick.
5. 17th and 16th probably take the 2nd & 3rd best players in the open draft.
6. Richmond probably hits the draft about now, taking the 4th & 5th best players in the open draft.
7. Richmond adds two further picks around 20 as well as our natural rd 3 pick, which could be early 30's after bid matching.
What a time to win a wooden spoon..
We smash the back out of our 3rd draft in 3 years adding picks 1, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 21, 21, 23, 28, 31, 33 in the process. 6 x top 10, and 12 x round 1 picks in 3 drafts & 3 early second rounders into the bargain, and what a bargain to get into.![]()

Port won't give up much as they need capital for Pilot, Salopek and Rodan in 2027So would I.
But I somehow don't think it will be like that.

Easy money
Ryan has another year on his contract after this one.We got a few more going at the end of the season, and ffs we need to move on from Ryan, Sonz, Ralf, and even useless Ross. If we can get priority and 1st pick, I would trade them hard and get more picks in the top 20 or decent players. I still can't get my head around who the f gave YZE and, more so, Balta crazy expensations!
Flag gap year flag flag2 spoons in 3 years, does that mean we will be going for back-to-back spoons next year?
Thats easy fix pay him out and tell him to go back to his mom.Ryan has another year on his contract after this one.
Guess it depends. If we get more youth, I would be betting on it. If we get 3 or 4 decent players, things change. If like I predict, we are going to lose 4 or 5 mature players, it might not make any difference. And most of all, I do not trust our recruiters one bit.2 spoons in 3 years, does that mean we will be going for back-to-back spoons next year?
