Gee Cow what rock have u been sleeping under that news is at least 3 months old! From the SFL website:
New coach for Cobras
FRANK Yaman is a fireman. But he's out to light a fire under Sandown Cobras Football Club.Yaman has been appointed non-playing senior coach of the Cobras, replacing the respected Mick Allen, who stood down after one, unsuccessful season.Yaman was an excellent rover on his day, playing at Richmond Amateurs, Collingwood Districts, St Kilda City and Balwyn.Sandown president Lew Short said that while he was disappointed Allen had moved on, he was confident the new man would do a good job and instill discipline and a good training regime to the squad. ``He's very keen,'' Short said. He said the Cobras, wooden spooners in division three of the Southernleague this year, were determined to keep all their players and bring in some recruits.Division two club Lyndale is yet to appoint a new coach but has five applicants. They include Matty Caples, who took over midway through last season after Paul Wilson walked out.Eight hopefuls put in for the Dandenong Demons job, including Mick Hawken, who has coached the club for two years.A decision will be made this week.

Well I guess the question has to be asked - Will Sandown fold?

Pretty sure we're gonna have 3 teams for 2008. We've spoken to the league about it, and they have agreed to it as far as i know. Not sure whats gonna happen with the fixture and that. I guess we'll find out early next year. Some dude named banana breath was on another thread saying that quite a few Belgrave players are heading to Mount. With the Waverley Blues guys going down as well, it'd have to bode well for Mount Waverley's 2008. I thought they had like a million players last year, will be very hard to get a game for a lot of the twos you'd think.
Sheedy has gone as well as foster, they are going to buln buln f.c.weeding has as well from lyndale, all good mates with collett who is senior coach!.

Could be a while before Weeding plays anywhere. Still recovering from his knee op. Buln Buln must be throwing a fair bit of coin around, 200 per game for a lyndale reserves player?
And how are you travelling junior? gonna have a kick this year? hows the numbers at the dales going?

Question to Giddo.
Is it true, that on the first night of this pre season training, you made the following statement to the players,
"Because I'm so fat, I wont ask you to do anything I cant do myself so, I promise I wont run you guys into the ground this year"
Made a good impression on the young kids. Looks like Doveton's the place to go if you're a lazy trainer....
